This hotel was an interesting find on our recent trip to Germany. At first sight I wasn’t too sure about our choice because it seemed to be in a strange location, with access to it through a one way road system in Gotha. The building looked a bit institutional from the outside and we found out that it used to be a military building but was repurposed. Inside, however, was a surprise. The building is tastefully decorated in classic Best Western style and to a good standard throughout with a quality feel. There was ample parking in the grounds of the hotel and a range of facilities for use of guests - gymnasium, sauna etc and relaxing areas. Unfortunately during our stay the gymnasium facilities were still being refurbished so I can’t comment on how good they were. The rooms were newly renovated, large and spacious and very comfortable and clean. TV and WiFi available too. Tea and coffee could be ordered from reception and delivered free to your room. The best thing for us here was the food! We have stayed in many hotels worldwide and then some ... but the food here really stands out. Firstly the breakfasts were amazing - best selection we’ve experienced in a long while with hot and cold fare - all delicious and even gluten free bread which is a plus point for me. The food was so attractively displayed for a breakfast! Secondly the evening meals in the restaurant were quite spectacular - I just loved the pike perch fish option I chose. It was amazing, so delicious and the presentation was simply superb. What also impressed us was the high level of service and attention we received from the catering staff - so pleasant and friendly and they really helped me with making gluten free choices. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary so it was extra nice! I did feel that they went the extra distance to make our experience pleasant. They went and printed an English version of the entire menu specially for us as the brand new menu was only available in German. The reception area was pleasant with books, magazines and newspapers available to purchase and some luxury goods too. All the staff were very helpful. The hotel location is good if you have a car, but a little far from the centre and nearby castle if you are planning to walk.

Staff not wearing face masks

Visited this hotel in feb 2021 and the hotel states that all guests need to have face masks on all the time. I arrived with my mask on and just I enter the hotel receptionist does NOT have a mask on, I was shocked!!!!! I travel all areas and all germany wear a mask and this hotel does not..... not happy at all The bar staff had the masks down, better not use them in this case, very very poor. Had breakfasts the next morning and the same, no masks except one lady waitress that she had it in. In the end asked fir a bag to take away my breakfasts to avoid any possible infections. People are dying from COVID every day and this hotel staff does not care at all.

Hotel to International Standards for Touring Gotha

Reviewed By ClaudiaJH7

I went to Gotha for a weekend of sightseeing and had a very nice stay at Hotel am Schlosspark. It is 15-20 minutes’ walk (slightly uphill) from the train station. While there were some other small hotels and pensions available, I am really glad I picked this large one. First, it had a 24-hour front desk while the pensions I looked at had short daily windows of time that did not match the arrival time of my evening train. Second, many of the staff were multi-lingual, which is pretty rare in Gotha. They were helpful with my English questions and I felt well taken care of. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast buffet was very good.

Pension Regina

A short stay in Gotha

Reviewed By Alex R

Pension Regina is a treasure - it is centrally located, so close to the old city and it is great value for money. The whole place is decorated charmingly, totally clean and tidy, all areas are shining and sparkling. My room was a twin room, very comfortable with a massive bathroom (bath with overhead shower, basin and toilet), all in perfect order. The room was equipped with two separate beds, a large wardrobe, desk, TV, etc. Again totally clean and in perfect order. With a town centre location you can't expect a view, the room I stayed in overlooked a courtyard, but that was fine. The breakfast (included in the price) was very generous with a large selection of sweet and savoury items, different breads, and lots of coffee. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, a very good place to stay which i highly recommend.

Für kleines Geld eine super Unterkunft!

Reviewed By AlexEp_NA
