Reviewed By caerzjWe didn't stay here, but we rented a boat from De Harmonie with a small group of friends. The owners were lovely, cheerful, and helpful. The 3-hour rental/tour was excellent. Very handily, they have an app to map your route so you can get back to the property without a problem. We had a great time, and thought the service was top notch.

Reviewed By FarAway65433898244Nice people, comfortable beds. Spacious rooms, good location, good restaurant attached. Quiet place to sleep. Rooms are up one straight stair case. Free parking in back. Free Wi-Fi that worked well. Not a great view from the windows, but an easy walk to the canals.

Cold staff, dirty room
Reviewed By anonymel2021The lady who served breakfast was cold, impatient and arrogant. Not helpful at all. The toilet in the room is dirty, the brush for the toilet had disgusting yellow liquid, it almost made us throw up. We think it was never cleaned.

Reviewed By 137johns137We drive from United Kingdom for a very short visit to Giethoorn. Plenty of free parking places at this place. Very safe and easy access. Fantastic welcome from the lady owner, very friendly staff and amazing Gabriella cooking for us the most delicious dishes . The Restaurant is clean and tidy and the terrace outside is outstanding. Three rooms with canal view, small individual terrace and bathroom tube inside the bedrooms, very posh. We didn't want breakfast but the staff insisted and send us fruits and a small bottle of Prosecco. Food was good with a pleasant plating. Prices a bit more than usual but is worth every penny, strongly recommended this place if you want to relax outside of the crowd.

Reviewed By francien2015You had to get the coffee yourself due to the corona . Service was friendly not that fast however. The location is very nice. The canals are quite near and the boat rental is right next to the hotel. The location is quite excentric..

Sights within walking distance and five minute walk from bus stop. Accessible by car and parking space available. Boat rental and café/restaurant opposite hostel.

Loved the location with rental boats, tour boats, or foot path readily available. Was able to cook our own dinner in a well equipped kitchen area. There is also seating outside and easy parking on the premises. Will definitely be back. Thank you for your great hospitality!!

Reviewed By 980javieruIt was the worst attention I’ve ever had in my life In terms of accommodation. I arrived, and the guy was not there; I rang the bell and we saw him after 10 minutes with a really angry face. He asked for my name and said I needed to pay. I responded that I had already paid online, to which he said that he was not able to check and insisted rudely. I said “well, I don’t want to pay 2 times”, so he said “ then I’m not letting you in” i said well, your not being very friendly, I’ll definitely leave a bad review. He responded “ I don’t care, get out of here, there are lots of other places” I was really amazed, I’ve never experienced something like this before; such aggression was hard to take. So, I had to pay again, for a second time so that finally he could let us in since I was not going to find a new place at that point. He even charged me an extra 20€ for arriving after 6pm. Once we went to the room, it smelled like garlic and onion, but I didn’t dare to go back and talk to this man, since I didn’t want to ruin my family’s holidays, that by the way, were very affected due to this man’s aggressive reaction and attitude. I’ve just checked the ratings on booking.com and most of bad comments refer to the rude attitude of staff. The WiFi connection was terrible by the way. I strongly recommend not to stay in this place.

Reviewed By Christina VThe room and price for the stay was satisfactory. The check in process is done via a kiosk and did not work for us. I had all my information needed but it would not process. We stood in the rain and wind for 20 mins trying to get the info for our room. Also, although we had paid before hand there was an add'l fee that we had to pay at this kiosk which I am not sure what was for. You speak to someone via kiosk but they cut out and you are unable to ask questions. The room was clean and nice. The breakfast staff were very kind and helpful but stated were not part of hotel.

The center of the village is also lively in the evening hours. The ideal spot for walking, dining, boating or finding a nice terrace at the waterfront. We also offer some special activities: - horsecarriage tours in village and national park - workshop with local artists / painters - fotoshoot in traditional clothing.

On the negative side, I guess due to all the good reviews, none of you got to actually talk to the host, maybe. I requested to talk to her and when she came I asked why we can't cook? since there is a stove. She replied to me that in Booking it doesn't say there is one, I then said I understand it was my mistake, she didn't let me finish and stated that she is happy to hear and that I should have read the ad better! Not only that I felt bad for my family for my error I was also shamed and embarrassed by the host when she stated it so rudely in front of them. I understand that in Giethoorn you make enough money in the summer traffic that you can easily treat your winter guests in an ill manner. To sum up: the place is good, but the host should treat her paying customers with respect.

Reviewed By ann gWe have just returned from 11 days wonderfully holiday. It was our first visit to Holland and we loved every minute. The accommodation and site is first rate. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. The village is so picturesque and We would recommend it to all. My husband had a great time fishing , while enjoyed the excellent cycling. We are already looking to book for next year .
