Quality Hotel & Conference Centre

Great location, new hotel, great staff, attached to Casino

Reviewed By Hotelmanmoncton

Quality Hotel & Conference Centre at Grey Rocks is a great destination in the Edmunston region, great service, great rooms, and connected to the Casino. Beds are comfortable but should have the mattress rotated from time to time so you don't feel like you are laying in a hole, windows would have been nice to open as an option but the blackouts work amazing and it was a very quiet. Great hot breakfast, with plenty of space for everyone.

One Night Stay - disappointing

Reviewed By 806loriw

We booked a night at the Comfort Inn in Edmundston on our way home from a holiday on the east coast. After playing a round of golf at a beautiful local course we looked forward to relaxing in our room....not possible. The room had a terrible odor to it...I thought it was rubber, my husband thought it was damp carpet. Either way, it was not pleasant. Our bathroom sink had a big crack in it and telephone was not plugged into any useful connection. We enquired at the desk and the staff were able to give us a new room.....same odor. The cracked sink and the phone might not seem like something too bad, but the odor was not pleasant when comparing the price for the room to that which we paid the night before in Fredericton, and also the night after in Drommundville, there appeared to be no value for money there. I assume it must be the competitive rate in Edmundston but in future I'll drive further and go on by.

Stay on the front side and not on the highway side

Overall a great place to rest over for a night to refresh as a break from a long drive. Isolated but noisy if you stay on the highway side of the building. Coffee room was great for me, but no refer in room was not convenient. Pool area quite nice but jacuzzi tub was small for a hotel.

This is not the same Happy Hotel you know and love

Reviewed By baubledeck

I book music and comedy acts in town and for over 10 years and I have used this hotel for them to stay in. The main reasons for this is because it's near the venues and we were getting a good rate as frequent customers. During the pandemic I have not been able to book shows. When we were finally able to do so I called to reserve a room. My first turn off is when the person who answered me said he didn't speak French in a city where 98% of the people do. I asked to make a reservation and the price he quoted was almost $100 more than what I would normally pay. I asked to speak to Pit the owner, only to be told that he sold it off and the person I was talking to is the new owner, who is from out of town and doesn't know anyone. I explained the arrangement we had with the previous owner. He said he could not honor the previous price, I understand inflation but the price was almost 75% more. He quoted me a different rate which was a little more reasonable so I accepted and he said he would give me deals in the future as well. He also insisted on me providing him a credit card number to confirm the reservation, something the previous owner NEVER did before. I only gave in because he would not accept the reservation otherwise. Up until that point I had a sour taste in my mouth, but I was willing a to build a trusting relationship with him. On the day of the booking the artist comes up to me saying he had to pay full price. So I went there and spoke to the owner. He denied ever giving me the rate that he had quoted me weeks earlier. He claims he had written it down, but conveniently couldn't find it when I asked him to show me. I once again explained that it would be in his best interest to provide a deal like the previous owner did, as I book shows all year and he will profit from it. He outright refused. I explained to him that he is not the only game in town, the previous owner was a nice man who we wanted to support, but if he wanted the same loyalty he would have to do the same in return. He kept saying he couldn't offer a better deal, then later said he would do so for future bookings, so contradicting himself again. I told him that keeping his original word would show good intentions to work with me. He is from out of town and not originally from Canada. He probably moved here after saving his money in a larger Canadian city and searched for an opportunity to be a business owner. He had a great opportunity to built a rapport with local townsmen to ensure that the Motel's reputation remains positive. I kindly asked him three times to honor the original agreement, otherwise I will be taking my business elsewhere. When I asked him a final time I clearly stated to him that if he refuses again then he will lose my business, my trust and future referrals. Not to mention good local word of mouth which is important for a new owner. He still refused so I left telling him I would never use his hotel ever again to book artists. He didn't seem to be phased by it. He doesn't seem to grasp that he has a small two star hotel and his prices are now the same as the other big hotels in town. Why would anyone want to stay there now that his prices are not as competitive as big chain hotels? I use to see the "No Vacancy" sign often but to be honest, I haven't seen the "No" sign appear since last summer. Since then I have booked over 10 different shows and they have been staying elsewhere. It's his lost and he had every opportunity to make things right but he blew it!

Pleasantly surprised by the small, modest, family-run motel. It was spotless. It had all the mod-cons, fridge, microwave and unfortunately, a very old TV. The bed however was very comfy. On the outskirts of Edmundston, it was a short drive to restaurants and services. Due to Covid the on site restaurant was closed.

We happened across this lovely Auberge while travelling to the maritimes and were so happy with our stay we made certain to stay again upon our drive home. Each room has a wood theme and is unique in decor. Rooms are equipped with coffee machine, bar fridge, hair dryer, extra pillows and blankets. The owners are welcoming and friendly. An on site dining room will soon be in operation which will be a nice additional service. There is a pedestrian/cycling path across the street, a great place to walk and stretch your legs after a day of driving. We will be back!

Great find in Edmunston, New Brunswick

Reviewed By Summertriper

Travellers from areas near Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto will find this a great place to stop en route to the Maritimes. The b&b is a lovely surprise, tucked away on a park-like property with beautiful gardens. The house was purpose-built, with large rooms and high ceilings. Each room has a well-designed en-suite bathroom. The decor all over the house is very attractive and uncluttered. The beds are very comfortable, with quality linens. Best of all, owner Norma is charming and helpful - and provides a delicious breakfast, complete with regional specialities. We loved it and we will definitely return.
