Peaceful Location

Lets first discuss the Elephant in the room, this hotel is located on a steep hill. It did not bother me much because I am a Runner. but if you have a knee issue or foot problem, it will a difficult climb. But if you take your time going up, you will be fine. The owner is also willing to come to get you. And yes, you do not have to walk through neighborhoods where the locals live. If you are not used to sketchy neighborhoods, it does look scary. But at no times, did I ever feel scared because everyone was extremely friendly. and if you are a tourist, they definitely will not bother you. The looks you get is based on awe. As for the hotel, we had a wonderful and resting stay. Took my 12 y/o son with me. The staff were wonderful and the owner was extremely pleasant. We were very happy we came across this location and will definitely come back. if you are looking for a peaceful place with a million dollars view of the city, this place is it.

This was the worst hotel experience that I’ve ever had in my life! The first thing that I noticed was that the customer service was terrible. The entire staff needs a simple course in Customer Service 101. When the resort is terrible, you at least need to make up for it in the service area. The water and electricity is a MAJOR issue. In one morning my electricity went off 5 TIMES! That is horrible. My friends that stayed at a resort nearby did not have this same issue. When it went off I would call the front desk, but guess what the front desk did not answer so I had to physically walk to the front desk just to ask them to turn the electricity on. Also, while I was in the shower, my water went off. Guess what?? Again no answer from the front desk. I had to walk to the front desk and ask them to turn the water back on. Imagine begging full of soap and having to walk to the front desk. When I got to the front desk, the girl was there so why not answer if you see a customer calling. They tried to say the the entire country had the water and electricity issue which wasn’t true because my friends at a different hotel had none of the electricity/water issues, nor did I experience these issues when I stayed with them for a night. The man who also helps at the front desk, and sits in the room at the front was NO HELP! When I advised that I had no electricity and no water, he said, “Ok.” Ok??? What??? How about a simple apology. An apology goes a long way. It was very hard to communicate with him. He was full of excuses, no results , and lacked apologies. The staff was rude, and just different than anything I’ve ever seen in my life. The drinks and food was terrible, and don’t count on the owners to help at all they were useless. It really seems as if they just aren’t ready for tourist. I truly regret spending my time and money here. A friend of mine came to the resort for drinks, and the bartender was so rude to him. He would ignore him, and give very dry & cold responses. He breathed as if he was exasperated. Haiti is a beautiful country. Haiti was having protests at the time, and I truly understand that, so I will most certainly give Haiti another shot, but at a different hotel. Please DO NOT spend your money here.

This hotel has breathtaking views and such accommodating staff. I’m Haitian and speak Creole but all the staff speak English. Everyone went above and beyond to make me feel safe and well cared for. They offered excursion options as well. Thanks to them I got to experience the Citadelle! I rented a car but take a taxi there, it’s way easier

Beautiful! The best location in Cap Haitien

Reviewed By FarAway752596

We did spend 4 days in this amazing hotel. Breathtaking views to the ocean and town, during the day or night. The cleanliness was impeccable, tasty and good food with affordable prices. The room was nice with a/c just perfect, the breakfast buffet is limited but was good. The staff very friendly. On the other hand, the restaurant service has a lot to improve, is deficient, almost inexistant. You can wait longtime at the table and nobody is coming to assist you, after finishing your meal don't expect anybody to come and clean up your table, waste of time. We wait 2 hours for a meal and nobody moved, even when we asked several times for our meal. It was just when we could talk to a manager that things move on and we were given excuses with beers and coffee. But we have to say, food is excelent. Cormier beach is not far away by car, around 10 min. Very nice experience overall.

Le Paradis S. Hotel

Not as advertised

Reviewed By mardimichels

I have to be totally fair here and say that while the hotel was not exactly as advertised (not really anything like the description), our stay here was pleasant enough. We LOVED the location - central to everything and we were able to walk all around the town. Our room was large with efficient aircon (+ a ceiling fan), cable TV (not a must but a nice touch) and we had plentiful hot water. Wifi worked pretty well (though electricity went on and off during the nights). Staff spoke French + were very friendly and helpful). However, let me address a few of the claims about the hotel in the description for those booking based on that alone: - No swimming pools - Restaurant for breakfast only (a choice between "oatmeal" and spaghetti + toast, fruit and juice), no bar/ lounge - No rooftop terrace (there is a rooftop but there is no "terrace" and there is a loud generator up there) - Roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and an area shuttle is just taxis. - There is no onsite self parking or valet parking (we booked a Queen Standard Room) - No Egyptian cotton linens in room - No rainfall showerhead - No refrigerator So, all that aside, the hotel was perfectly adequate, Just not as advertised.
