Reviewed By Daniel3282We arrived for a long weekend and check in was very quick. Everything is pretty rustic, room included. We had a small room with a balcony overlooking the parking lot. Everything in the room and balcony felt very cheap and was uncomfortable. Tv screen was smaller than my laptop screen. 2 small plastic chairs were on the balcony, no cushions available. Wi-fi was extremely slow and un-stable, maybe it was because we had the last room in the hall. Breakfast was great for non-vegans. As a vegan, you could have simply cold stuff, fruits, jams, and cereal, even the grilled potatoes had butter. They did have Soya milk available only. We actually booked this place because they advertised Vegan/Vegetarian dishes from a famous chef. There was not much choice for Vegans in the evening. Pizza with no cheese, pasta with tomato sauce. Even the white rice was with butter. For desert, we asked and they said that there was a vegan desert available but that it was in the back and they would have to bring it out to us. I did not understand why. The pool area was ok but no tables whatsoever to put drinks on, only lounge chairs. You had to put your glass on the floor. Everything was very close together. Although the place looks huge, the pools outside are small. In any case, we left a day earlier back to Vienna. It was not a bad weekend, just not what we had expected.

great terrace, very friendly
Reviewed By FORZA7777I have been here very often through the years though never in the hotel. This is also a perfect place to sit on the terrace and have a drink or lunch. They have a small menu but don't want to be called a restaurant. This is because in the winter when the hotel is full they simply can't offer a table anymore. We have had lunch here many times. Under 4 euro you have a toast or frankfurter sausage with bread. The playground of Tauplitz is just in front of the hotel, so the ideal place as a parent to sit and have a drink when you have children below 12. As said, I have never slept here because I have my own house in these surroundings, but still I can definitely recommend this place. To stay or to just have lunch or a drink on the terrace.

Reviewed By Tudor1978We stayed 2 nights with our 2 kids in a guest room without balcony. Hotel was clean, staff was polite, but un general we found the accommodation as being totally outdated. I wonder which interior architect decided to place a bathtub in the room, while the room is already tiny enough. I was happy to return home after 2 days

Reviewed By K KWe visited as a group of two families. All meals were very good (except for he pasta with herbs and garlic, which consisted of loads of raw garlic and was sitting in 3 cm of oil). Unusual to get vegetables with a meal in Austria, and not just chips or potatoes! Well done! Very good deserts. Nice, modern interior (not what the photos in this posting show). The only thing that left us nervous was the complete lack of interest in seeing any COVID-passes from us at all. Hopefully this was just an oversight? And the fact that the children’s meal was only Euro 1.50 less than the same adult meal, despite bing half the size.

Reviewed By timagyarThis place is usually full of sking guests during winter season. During summer it is a place to relax, to hike and listen to the singing birds. Quiet place, but still a lot to do incase you’d like to have some entertainment. There is a spa, fun wellness near in Bad Mitterndorf with a discount and seasonal festivals nearby. In the hotel, there is a sauna as well

Reviewed By mazza680Spent just two nights here on the weekend of the Austrian Grand Prix. Easy check in, lovely clean rooms, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Given very good advice about places to walk/visit. We left very early on Sunday to go to the Grand Prix, hotel obliged with a packed lunch in lieu of breakfast. Restaurant facilities and food of a high standard. Cannot praise this place enough... staff, location, facilities and hospitality all first class.

Great hotel in a great area
Reviewed By EBrigThe rooms are maybe a teeny bit outdated, but very clean and a great size. Food was great (included breakfast, lunch, afternoon cake and dinner), although dinner menus were only in German which might be a problem if you don't understand the language. Staff were very helpful and friendly (and spoke excellent English). Bowling alley was always empty but is a lot of fun and the pool wasn't too busy either while we were there. A great hotel for seeing the lakes and mountains in the area!

From Bad Mitterndorf you can get everywhere. These impressive mountains are not only to be admired, but also to walk on. For the experienced ones on foot and for the untrained ones perhaps by cable car.

Reviewed By P2165GZandreask“I believe in providing a service first, and only then, when everything is satisfactory for our customers, to accept payment.” That’s how Mr. Kogler answered our inquiry regarding a down payment when we arrived at the charming, family-run Hotel Kogler for our ski vacation. And boy, did he deliver! Absolutely spotless rooms, extremely friendly staff, and probably the best food in the entire region. While the menu was mostly tailored to an adult palette, the team at Hotel Kogler would always whip up something tasty specially for our daughter. The hotel is close (maybe a 3 min walk) to the ski shuttle bus that took us directly to the lifts. While in the afternoon, many fellow skiers opted for a visit to the slightly crowded Grimming hot springs in town, we enjoyed the tranquility and peace of the hotel’s own indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. All in all, I’d say our experience was “old-school” - in the best sense of the word: personal through and through.
