Nice and cozy hotel
Reviewed By martinasI4899ZOThe hotel is really nice. 10 minutes walk to town. The rooms are spacious and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really great, but not vegetarian/vegan friendly. To my idea the mattress is tooo soft. That’s why i cannot rate 5 stars.

Reviewed By Fiona_MayneWe were here for a week half-board. The food in the restaurant was simply delicious with a very good vegetarian option every evening. The restaurant manager was particularly attentive to his guests wishes. Despite Corona restrictions the staff offered us everything you could wish for from a breakfast buffet - delivered to our table. The pool was a good size for swimming and relaxing when the weather was bad. It was great to have a balcony when the weather was good.

Cosy countryside hotel
Reviewed By Tanya LThe hotel locates in the forest, but it is very close to the summer swimming areal and to the town centre. It has a free of charge parking (you can always fing a space there for your car). The hotel rates as a 3 star one but it is much more than you expect from a 3*. Our room was basic but have everything we needed, including some drinking water and juice (would be nice to have a kettle and some coffee/tea but it was not a problem). The bathroom was clean and equiped with a shower (just the water was going outside it if you use high water pressure). The breakfast at the hotel is typical German breakfast: freshly made coffee/tea, juices, cold cuts, different müsli, fruit salad, bread and eggs. Everything is tasty. Specially I want to mention the dining here. The food is fantastic. Do not search for another place to enjoy your meal! The staff is very friendly, you can feel the family athmosphere.

Die Inhaberin sorgt durch ihre warmherzige und offene Art dafür, dass man sich direkt willkommen fühlt. Unser großes, gemütliches Zimmer war mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, das Bett war sehr bequem und es war alles sehr ordentlich und vor allem super sauber. Auch das kleine Bad war sehr sauber. Generell ist die Pension sehr gepflegt und lädt zum Wohlfühlen ein. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns das außergewöhnlich vielseitige und reichhaltige Frühstück - dies ließ keine Wünsche offen. Die Inhaberin nimmt sich Zeit für ihre Gäste und versorgt diese bei Bedarf mit vielen hilfreichen Ausflugstipps und Informationen rund um Bad Driburg. Die Pension liegt in einer ruhigen Straße. Parkplätze sind direkt vor der Türe oder in den Nebenstraßen zu finden. Von der Pension aus kann man in wenigen Gehminuten das Zentrum von Bad Driburg sowie den gräflichen Park erreichen. Vielen Dank für den schönen und erholsamen Aufenthalt bei Ihnen und für die netten Gespräche. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Helpful - going the extra mile!
Reviewed By Chris SI was out for each of the three days of my visit, leaving before 8.30am and returning early to mid evening, so no hope of meeting any deliver service in their normal hours. I was expecting a delivery from a supplier for me to bring back to UK with me (saving me quite a bit of money that way). The hotel staff took-in my delivery of 8 fairly weighty boxes and loaded them into my car as well, saving my dodgy back! Not only did I not have to hang around waiting for the delivery (and could get on with my business) but the hotel staff could not have been more helpful, and this has been my consistent experience here.

Great Location thats about it
Reviewed By TinyAssindiaStayed here from friday to sunday. Location is amazing and very well upkept. Absolutely fantastic. Rooms are very individual and we had a newly renovated one. Which was very nice. Unfortunately the mattresses were not new (or shady quality to begin with). Definetly recommend getting a room away from the bar area. Service tries it’s best and is mostly very friendly. Unfortunately that doesn’t cut it for the type of hotel they aim to be. If it’s only very young staff without proper training than you will not get top service. Restaurant, reception and spa all seem like a training ground for service personnel. We saw no senior/managerial staff over our three day stay. Dinner was on the above average side (tasty and good quality ingredients) but portions were small and they should definitely hire someone for deserts. 2/2 some type of cream, some fruit, some coffee (cream or sauce), some crunch all thrown together. Nothing to write home about. Sadly they didn’t have enough staff (per answer of staff on duty)to serve dinner outside both nights and breakfast only on one day. That is just poor planning as most guests were definetly hotel guests. But again no manager of sorts available. Lastly pricing. They are „famous“ for the springs on site. I understand that during Corona you can’t put out self-service water in the spa but charging 6,90€ a bottle... holy smoke. And for the cappuccino in the spa area (not near the pool but where lunch was served and they did serve beer and other drinks in real glasses), I’ll let the picture do the talking if any place should charge ~ 3,50€ a piece for that... So overall it could be a great place but they need to invest in staff (minimum a proper restaurant manager) maybe then the prices won’t feel completely out of line.

Reviewed By Inge KWe looked foreward every day to return from a long bikingride to a nice room, a very nice staff and a very nice and honest dinner on the terrace. Frau Boehler made it a very good experience for us and the area is full of bicycletracks.

Reviewed By JorhadaDas Haus am Steinberg ist ein -im Besten Sinn- familiengeführtes 3Sterne Haus. Hier wird man freundlich aufgenommen und die Wünsche des Gastes werden gehört und erfüllt. Gut, die Größe der Zimmer ist übersichtlich-dafür gibt es gute Matratzen, kostenloses Wlan und in vielen Zimmern einen Balkon mit Aussicht ins Tal. Das Frühstück wird liebevoll angerichtet, was am Buffet fehlt wird nach Möglichkeit auf Wunsch gebracht. Gerne beim nächsten Besuch in Bad Driburg wieder.
