Exactly what Maria promised when I contacted her before booking and asking some details about rooms and the hotel. Everyone working there very nice. Fantastic breakfast. I couldn't wait every morning to see what they prepare this time. When I go to Karpathos next time I know where to stay.

Perfect Greek Hospitality!
Reviewed By JonathanSymondsFrom the moment we booked our rings at Vardes, we were impressed by the owners’ generous hospitality; a message came through offering us free breakfast as part of the package, which was not originally part of the deal. When we arrived quite late in the evening, both Maria and Minas were there to welcome us and help us with our suitcases. Mina even guided us on his moped to a wonderful taverna, (‘To Kasos’ - delicious and authentic food and lovely staff and owner), having rung to check if they were still open. Our rooms were clean and spacious and all appliances worked well. Everything was brightly painted in white and blue, and the sea view from the balcony was serene, and the ambiance peaceful. Breakfast on the terrace was generous and delicious - they make their own cheese and honey, and there were chocolate donuts and cheese pastries to take away for lunch! They have a dear little boy with a puppy called Bella, and a white cat called ’Cat’ (!) which topped-off the idyl. Oh, and the beach is an easy 400-yard walk away!

Reviewed By klizia mI spent two dreamy weeks at Scarpantos Studios. Mike and his family, the owners, treated us with love and attention. Room was large and cozy, in a great spot of the Island called Amoopi, very close to one of the most beautiful beaches and a couple of very good restaurants. We went around the all island and we found that it was the perfect position to be based and to get around, close to the airport, the main city and the top beaches. We have been treated with sweets prepared by the grandma and fruits, we really felt at home and Mike has been super helpful with tips regarding restaurants and beaches never getting tired of our hundreds of questions. Impressive quality/price Photos match reality perfectly, and the little patio with table and chairs with sea view was a great feature For the above reasons I would chose Scarpantos over and over again

Decent Base for Discovering the Island by car
Reviewed By VanjaBGI'm not sure what is the price for 2 bed apartment, since I went there through an agency, but, it seems to me, it could be a bit lower (having in mind cost for the whole packet deal and knowing the approximate price for an airplane ticket). This is because, although those studios have almost perfect view (you can see the see, but over the parking; it's not like you apartment overlooks a beach/shore down under), for some it would be quite inconvenient, even not safe, to walk to the nearest beach (Little Ammopi) and back to the studios. Especially for families with little children and older persons. Also, there's no market nearby (5-10min). I don't understand why people suggest that there is a small market, as a part of studios, since it's an ordinary storage room, with almost nothing besides water (6 EUR for six-pack; price for this in a supermarket is around 2 EUR). Also, you should pay additionally for AC, which is, I believe, needed, even though we didn't use it. We were in the room only during the night and we kept windows open, which created draft. This helped most of the days spent there (August), but sometimes, there was no wind, so no air circulation. On other occasions, the wind was to strong, which created a big unpleasant draft, making it a bit cold in the room, if you sleep naked or nearly naked. You'll have to use AC during the day. The room was freshly painted, quite spacious (contained 3 beds), with very satisfactory kitchen and dining area. Even though the bathroom was also very spacious, the bathtub was too small. Didn't understand that. Also, it was very worn out (the bathroom). It needs immediate updating. We couldn't use quite spacious terrace for breakfasts, since it was on the sunny side in the morning. Pity. The owner is pleasant, but not as much friendly as it's written in some reviews. Maybe my expectation were high, following those reviews. He'll surely help you with whatever you need and ask for, though. I liked better the lady who cleaned. Bering located app. 15 min from the village on foot, there's this pleasant feel of silence and serenity that surrounds them (provided that there's no children running around and shouting). If you choose this place because of the nearest beaches, be aware that sunbeds on Little Ammopi are usually taken before 9AM (in August), and probably around 10AM on Big Ammopi beach. This is, in my opinion, the perfect choice if you're rent a car, and use the Studios just as a base when discovering the Island.

I recommend upper floor. Beautiful beaches in the area 500m. We rented a car (7 days - 20 € / day). Food, beaches and people, everything is beautiful. We had a great time.

Room was long which was strange at beginning but it was not a problem it was clean and all things which we needed was there. Beautiful terrace outside with nice tree . Quiet place. Definitely would go there again.

A good place for families and couples with a very high quality/cost ratio
Reviewed By Luigi II spent in sunflower 10 days in August 2019 with my wife and daughter. We housed in a two-beds studio with an extra bed. The studio was large (so it was confortable for three persons), at the first foor with a good terrace and a nice view on the sea (the terrace was also protected from Meltemi, great!). The studio was cool and with no mosquito. The kitchenette was basic but confortable to cook dinners. Clean room and bathroom. Maria and Niki are very nice, the gave us precious information on the island and tasty housemade cakes. Niki (he is a fisherman too) gave me also some information on the best spots to go fishing (usually fisherman are very jealous of their spot!!!). The studio is only 5 minutes walking from small, wonderful beaches and confortable rocks to dive in crystalline water. The cost for the studio is low considering the quality of the studio and its position. So I suggest Sunflower Studio to anyone I will surely house there if I will come back to Karpathos (that has among the best beaches that I have seen in the egean see).
