Superbly renovated gem
Reviewed By DemersWe were attending an event at the nearby Schloss Romrod and were referred to Villa Raab as they were fully booked. Judging by the similarity in marketing materials and branding, they are owned by the same people. At the time of booking, the hotel was still being renovated, and it had only been finished a few weeks when we checked in. We had a small double which was well appointed and stylish - the beds were particularly comfortable, and the toiletries in the bathroom were full size and good quality. Breakfast was a little chaotic - or maybe that was just us! It was a busy morning, and maybe everyone was just trying to find their groove - in such a new hotel, this is not surprising and the staff were super helpful, bringing more items on request. Would highly recommend the hotel - I understand the renovation programme took 5 years and cost 12 million. So lovely to see what was clearly an old building in a sorry state being brought back to life, and no doubt providing employment for the town. Keep up the good work, we hope to be back again soon.

Very modern & comfortable in a historic town
Reviewed By Tom LThe hotel is in a historic building (see photos) and has expanded to a neighboring building on the street that has been wholly modernized plus a newly built "pavilion" of 4 rooms in the back where we stayed. (I'm not a wheelchair user so there may i parking lot that's not technically part of the hotel but may be useable, plus to the reception & breakfast room via the main building's back door link to the pavilion). Our room actually was a 2-room, 2-double-bed suite; beds had good, firm mattresses with good, firm pillows (a rarity in German hotels); the spacious bathroom, which had good counter space around the sink, was supplied with another rarity for Germany: washcloths.

A real design Hotel
Reviewed By thrundbWe spent one night at the hotel on our way home. So nice to come to this hotel and being welcomed by a very friendly woman. Incredibly nice rom. Clean and fresh. Good breakfast in the garden. Easy access from the Autobahn with gas station nearby. A great place to rest on your way or to spend a weekend with someone special.

Reviewed By renswindQuietly hotel room during night.Daytime there was some traffic through the town.Breakfast was above normal for this type of hotel.The room was also above standard.The restaurant was not open when we was there in the middle of the week. Wifi was good quality in the room.

Friendly welcome, relaxed place to stay
Reviewed By JATOxfordshireUKTurned up without a booking and had a warm welcome. We were surprised to be asked if we wanted smoking or non smoking room! Our room was quite a way from reception - it was spacious and clean with a double aspect and balcony. Comfortable beds and good night's sleep, The breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of this most attractive town.

Practical countryside hotel near the motorway
Reviewed By DanalapaWe just happened upon this hotel by chance as we left the motorway. Friendly and helpful staff. We got an enormous room with a balcony in the guest house next to the main building. Lots of free parking. As there didnt' seem to be anything nearby we ate dinner at the restaurant. Really good local food at a very decent price. No fan or air conditioning so we had to sleep with the windows open - and were visited by numerous flies and mosquitoes. The breakfast buffet had a little bit of everything. But nothing was kept chilled so everything was at room temperature (OK for bread, less so for yoghurt and butter etc). I had a look into the Fitness room. They had squeezed in three machines (treadmills + bike) into a small room. Nothing for people with claustrophobia. There was a wellness area as well - but unfortunately we didn't have time to check it out (extra fee for bath robe and jacuzzi).

Lieber unter einer Brücke schlafen!
Reviewed By Susanne_LausaDas ist vielleicht hygenischer. Unbeschreiblich, wie die Gemeinschaftsküche aussieht und stinkt. Das Zimmer war ähnlich, Dusche und Toiletten auch. Der ganze Trakt stank ekelhaft und überall klebte es. Lichtschalter und Steckdosen total versifft. Wahrscheinlich deshalb Vorkasse bezahlen müssen. Nach einer Nacht juckte es überall. Am nächsten Tag, nachdem ich gefragt wurde, wie ich geschlafen hätte, und ich um eine halbwegs vernünftige Lösung gebeten habe, weil kein anderes Hotel in der Nähe frei war, bekam ich ein erträgliches Zimmer und das Versprechen, dass die Küche mal geputzt wird. Respekt vor der sehr freundlichen Servicekraft, dass sie es sogar versucht hat! Der Gestank blieb aber penetrant im ganzen Trakt. Da müsste erstmal entkernt werden und VERputzt werden! Unglaublich, dass es in Europa so etwas gibt! Kontrolliert das niemand? Wo kommen die guten Bewertungen her? Diese schmuddelige Unterkunft ist unzumutbar!

Poor Booking Practise
Reviewed By barn572Made a booking over the phone with the ower , was assured all is available and should send an email through with names . Oddly enough I did not hear back , called again same day and he said he will be in office in the afternoon that day. Did not receive am email reply , called following day and was told by reservations staff no booking in place and no rooms available and owner not in office. Avoid if you can they over promise and cant deliver!
