This place is truly a gem - not only does it have all the home comforts at a reasonable price, it has a magical feel - peaceful and pretty, fruit trees (the apples were delicious) and gardens, a treasure of a place and very relaxed. We also got a warm friendly welcome! I'd highly recommend staying here.

We stayed post-COVID-lockdowns, so it was very quiet which suited us perfectly. We were able to arrive prior to check-in time and were welcomed warmly by the staff. The kitchen/lounge facilities are extensive, the bed was comfortable and everything was neat and clean. - Spa was not working

Over priced motel rooms

Reviewed By Journey12735264910

The motel units at the back over the hotel are really basic and close to a standard of cabin in campground. Very tired and not full kitchen - maybe s 1/4 kitchen. We booked in and the charge was 150. This we subsequently realised was 50% more than web site price. We paid, took one look at it and asked for money back. They refunded without fuss which we appreciated. What we did not appreciate was the holiday rort.

Damp and Disappointing

Reviewed By ruthsP3771QQ

Tui room was a chalet in beautiful rain forest. However we should have guessed when all windows were open on a cold autumn day it was due to a damp issue. Well worse than that - the bed was so damp it couldn"t be slept in. Bathroom had condensation running down walls with toilet paper too damp to use. This accommodation was not fit for guests. Let alone the charge of $150!! When we complained - it took 2 emails, 4 phone calls and too many excuses to get a $70 refund. The lack of sleep was not worth the $80 cost, aggravation and frustration. Having had a wonderful South Island trip - Te Nikau Retreat was memorable for exceptionally poor accommodation.

Four couples doing West Coast Wilderness Trail. We were dropped off at the Holiday Park on a wet windy afternoon. Accommodation was excellent. Sue was very helpful and drove us all to the Ross Pub for dinner that evening and picked us up again. Great location right by the beach. Cosy container style accommodation, with cute decor. Small but perfect for our one night stay.

Great stay

Reviewed By Arohanuitraveller

I was sad to only stay here one day as it was such a lovely place. Spotlessly clean and comfortable and the hosts were really friendly and helpful as well. It is a little further from the centre of town for walking (about 15mins) but they have bicycles and the facilities more than make up for it. There is a large supermarket about 5 mins walk and great kitchen facilities so that was really easy. Thanks for a great stay and I hope I can be back one day.
