Euro Youth Hotel

The Euro Youth Hostel in Munich enjoys a great location just 100m from the main station and a few minutes from the pedestrainized city center. The hostel is housed in a beautiful old building but has modern amenities (eg free wifi in all areas). Some of the biggest attaractions of the hostel are the fantastic international atmosphere at the lively hostel bar, the friendly, helpful and multilingual staff and the bright, clean and spacious rooms.

Best hostel in Munich!

I stayed at a couple of different locations in Munich and this was by far the best one in terms of cost, cleanliness, location, WiFi, friendliness, facilities, etc. so much so that I ended up staying here a few times over a period of two months. The WiFi was amazing, I had 0 problems and I was able to work from my private room. They also have incredible facilities (5 euro laundry, 5.95 breakfast with eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, coffee, etc.), a bar, etc. The place was spotless and best of all, all of the staff were super friendly, helpful, and always there to answer questions. The city centre is 10 minutes away, and the main train station is less than 5 minutes away where you can find lots of supermarkets, etc. Definitely one of the best hostels I've been to in a long time. Cheers guys!

Typical Hostel, good location

Reviewed By Aisa_1228

The hostel is very near the Munich hbf. I stayed here for two nights in a 6bed mixed dormitory. There were sheets provided. I like it that there is a lamp per bed so I do not have to turn on the light in the room when I am fixing my things. There is also outlet per bed. I can say that the hostel is quite clean. Downside is there is no bathroom per room. The toilet and bath is common for the whole floor. And they do not have hair dryer (have to bring your own). I also do not understand why our room has no curtains. On the up side, the staff were nice and they have an area downstairs with bar, pool table and darts. This is nice for socialization. Two stubs of free drink was also provided ?

'Of all the hostel-hotels popping up in Munich this pert little number does the best job in combining style with location. Past the glassed-in courtyard you'll find a friendly expat staff, pleasant if modular furnishings and private showers and toilets in every room.' (Lonely Planet) Welcome to our comfortable baby in Munich! We're just a stone's throw from the main train station which also serves as the major public transportation hub. It’s not much further to the old town (5 minute stroll or 2 stone throws) and we're within easy walking distance of the Oktoberfest grounds (if you still CAN walk…better don’t throw stones). We have amply dimensioned dormitories and most doubles come with their own terrace. We're especially proud of our air-conditioned, glass-roofed courtyard with real trees, real hammocks, semi-real (Beware of the wormholes!) beach chairs and beanbags. If you travel by car, you can park it in our basement.

Treated like garbage.

The hostel itself is very clean, there is alot of space to move around, there is a bar on-site which is great for socialising and meeting new people, there is also an atrium in the middle which is huge and heated, it's like the outdoors brought inside with trees and nature then off this is a kitchen which is handy, as being a backpacker it's so much cheaper to cook. This is where things get a little sour......... The morning of my first day in Munich, my room-mate and I hired "Lime" E Scooters to get to where we wanted to go, while paying for this with my Australian card my bank blocked my card as an automated response, I had no euros on ne at the time was unable to call out of Germany from my phone so I was unable to call my bank to rectify the problen, so I was in a very bad situation at this point. I decided to make my way back to the hostel and ask if I could quickly borrow one of there office phones to call my bank, there was 3 women at the desk and the manager guy was out the back at his desk, the 3 girls all go back to ask him - He straight up said no. Didn't want to hear my situation, wouldn't even come out from the back to address me, just said no, so that is fine, he is well within his right to do so, I was in a very bad situation, no money, no cards, no phone and my accomodation was only paid for the next day. My room-mate eventually downloaded downloaded app to her phone that allowed us to call outside the EU to Australia where I was able to speak to my bank and the issue was rectified within 5 minutes. To the manager who left me in that situation, I say this: When we are travelling and we are 25,000kms from home, the hostels we stay at become our homes, you are the hosts and you become our temporary family, yes we pay you, but it should be more than that to you, you should have pride in the position you are in and you should want to make this experience as comfortable for us and yourself as possible, I was in such a bad situation and any one of you there could have helped me but you didn't care, one woman told me to walk down the street there might be a phone - which there wasn't - but are you serious!!?? I would never do that to anyone. Not one of you cared about me, you made my bad situation worse. I am in a foreign country, cannot speak the language, no money, no credit cards, no phone and you told me to walk down the street. I was so disappointed in humanity I just wanted to go home right then. To other backpackers I have this to say: I care alot aboit everyone and everyone in our backpacker/travelling community, I'd hate to know that if any one of you were in an emergency situation that you could possibly be treated with such carelessness and disregard for your basic human needs, I have so much respect for our travelling community that I'd HIGHLY suggest taking your money to a smaller place where you'd be treated properly and helped if you needed. There is literally nothing Wombats can say to make this better. Just nothing. F for Fail.

If you are looking for a central location in Munich they this hostel is situated in a good location right next to the Hauptbahnhof. The hostel has a bar but it wasn't in use a lot when we were the there and they do a continetal breakfast for 7 euros. Our room was for 4 people and had bunkbeads, the bedsheets were clean and the matrress' were comfortable. You cannot hear any nosie though walls but the door to the bathroom was a non sound proof sliding door so you can hear any toilet noises from your room mates.

Nice stylish hostel, good location

Reviewed By simonjx

Location: The hostel is easy to access via train and is located at the Werksviertel (district), where you find lots of possibilities for nightlife activities. The hostel: The hostel itself is pretty new, it has a modern "instustrial like" theme. The reception as well as the lobby is not directly at the entrance but on the 1st level. At the entrance you have elevators and a bar, which also serves breakfast. The lobby is pretty cosy with large couches, some food sharing shelves, a microwave, a washing saloon and a balcony with a large outdoor climbing wall along the building's side. The receptionists are very friendly. Room: Booked a private 8 bed room. We had 2 private bathrooms, with each having a shower and a toilet (very clean). Sadly the soap dispenser was broken in one. The bunkbeds were set back to back. 4 beds facing the window and 4 beds facing the wall, with a passage between each set of 4 beds. Each bed is pretty good equipped: has a ventilator, a locker, curtains, a light and a power outlet. The beds are built for good privacy with thin seperating walls and feel more like capsules. The beds facing the wall are pretty dark and always require a light on to see anything. The bed curtains of one bed had blood stains on it. Taller people also might not really fit in the bed. Also heat can be an issue, if its hot outside, it might get also very hot inside. I also think the room is missing some chairs to sit down. Verdict: For a newly opened hostel you already see lots of broken/used down stuff). The hostel is pretty well fitted though. I liked the idea with the climbing wall, the beds and bathrooms are good equipped. Also for being in a pretty expensive city, the hostel is cheap. So if travelling to München and are a bit on a budget but be at a location with good nightlife and are into the industrial/modern theme, stay here.

Die Dusche (ein kompletter Raum) ist ein Traum. Der Service vor Ort ist äußerst freundlich und familiär. Ich habe mich ab dem ersten Moment wohl gefühlt und komme sicher gerne wieder!

Clean and comfy but far from city centre

Reviewed By JaroslavJ55

I stayed here with my family on September. Reception is in different building but close to accomodation. Parking place is just outside the building. Rooms are clean and comfy but small and only with standard furniture without TV and WiFi. Centre have various possibilities hoe to spend free time with different games. Breakfast are good quality. Accomodation have a common kitchen with basic equipment where you can prepare your own food. If you want to get to the city a car is a must otherwise you walk 30 minutes to the centre. The advertised accomodation price is good, but beware you must be member of the German Jugendherberge community. If you not which is the case of all host from abroad you will pay aditional registration fee and tax for each day of your stay. With this fees the overall price reach the level off other accommodations located directly in the city centre.

206 Double, family, and multi-bed dorm rooms – some even have their own balcony and a bathtub. Yes, you read that correctly: a bathtub! Add to this there is a guest kitchen and a laundry, a billiards table, a car and van parking, and a kids’ corner for the little ones. And while that all sounds so nice, we’ve saved the best for last: the roof terrace on the 5th floor with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Alps and the city of Munich – because we really know how to make luxury aff ordable.

long wait to get my room, far from old town and not really in walking distance to anything. charged extra for sheets and towels. paid 60€ for one night and it was just a terrible overall experience. the only bright spot was relatively comfy beds, but it was ruined by all the construction that woke me up. washrooms were relatively clean but since i didn’t pay for a towel, i had to clean my hands with tissue paper. overall time really angers me as I feel as if i was scammed, i will never recommend it to anyone.

Where to begin ? I spent one night there with 2 friends and I don't recommend to stay for more. The staff is very strange and didn't care so much about us. The rooms are "ok", the showers are old and not so cleaned. For all the hostel there is just one toilet for women (at least I just saw one), the flush didn't work most one the time ! The location is not great because it is in an industrial park. I would like to add that I am used to travel alone, and for one woman alone I don't recommend it at all !
