Basic hotel full of School groups

Reviewed By Trevor S

modern, in center of the town very basic rooms mine was 103 lift to 2nd floor then walk the corridor then down two flights of stairs to the room. Not what I want at over 60 with a big case no offer of help. Hotel was full of teen school groups some up to various pranks like stopping the lift working. Room was very basic twin, plain floors, television, with view of the multi car park - cars starting and stopping all day and at night and early in morning. Bathroom was very narrow but reasonable As you would expect with the kids excellent and fast Wifi Breakfast usual Continental help yourself, very good selection and very good standard cannot fault that. The staff at the desk where fairly un-interested and spent a lot of time smoking outside the front door It was good enough for three nights but the give away is of course in the name Jungengasthaus - I thought it was named as it was new - silly me. Not a place I will return to but ok if you are a back packer, have young family or teenage kids - not for us older types!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great find in Hattingen

Reviewed By JanetD679

Hotel located in sort of an industrial area...must have been a former office building...but beautifully redesigned. We had booked a Deluxe Double but they gave us a Suite. Enormous, immaculately clean room with bed separated from the living space. Comfortable beds with plugs next to the beds. TVs in both bed and living space. Bathroom was enormous with freestanding tub, nice big shower and room to put things. Staff was very nice. Peaceful outdoor area for sitting with huge tables and umbrellas. Very quiet neighborhood. About a ten minute walk to get to the Old Town area of Hattingen which was truly charming. Breakfast was nice and we requested a packed lunch (we were biking) which was inexpensive and plentiful. Bike storage is outside but under a covered area (gate to the property locked at night so bikes were fine). Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again if biking through Hattingen.

Dont trust them!

They overbook your room, so don’t trust them if you book a place. You never know if there is a spot. And if they overbook they don’t give a discount or something to compensate. They do not even try to speak English Tip go somewhere else

Just a normal hotel. Shame about the smelly and very warm room. Family room was big. Breakfast nothing special but nice. You can park at the parking of the Aldi. Diner you can eat Charisma in the same building. Staff is nice but not everybody understands English. Shame about the condom wrappers at the front door.

Myself and two friends stayed in this hostel which was next to the sports complex while on a cycle trip following the Rhine Route Velo 15. The hostel is modern, clean, has a bar and does a good breakfast but not evening meals. Also has secure bike storage. We had bedded room for the three of us along with breakfast with towels for 95.70E.

Stylish and comfy

Reviewed By Gonne W

I have had the pleasure to board this hotel for numerous times in the past months and I am completely satisfied. It's situated just a short walk from the old town area of the city of Duisburg and is easily reachable by train or car. It features stylishly furnished and decorated rooms and all the rooms come with a small balcony. There's also neat restaurants around the corner as well as a little burger and pizza joint inside the loewe hotel where you will have to pick up the key for your stay. Lastley the owners are really helpful and forthcoming. Nuf said, anytime again...

Jugendherberge Hagen

Our DJH-Youth Hostel in the city of Hagen is centrally located in a green area with a big space to do sports and fun: beach volleyball, basketball, soccer, table tennis, a space to have a bonfire night and to do barbecue. The Youth Hostel Hagen is also an ideal starting point to discover the Ruhr Area as well as the Sauerland region. We recommend to pay a visit in the LWL-Open-Air Museum Hagen - Westphalian State Museum for Crafts and Technics ("LWL-Freilichtmuseum Hagen - Westfälisches Landesmuseum für Handwerk und Technik"), Castle Hohenlimburg, the moated castle Werdringen ("Wasserschloss Werdringen") and the Westfalenbad, one of the most contemporary and greatest leisure centers and swimming pools in North-Rhine-Westphalia.

Good place for a short stsy

Reviewed By jeminplymtree

We were here for one night on a motorcycle tour of Germany. Very good welcome and good atmosphere. Free parking. Easily found with the satnav. The room was of a good size. Rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. You have to make and strip your own beds. Toilets and showers were in a separate area. I personally did not like the showers as no privacy at all whilst changing or showering and with children around I was not comfortable. That said the Germans don’t seem to mind but I did ! We had our evening meal at the hostel which was very good. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. Not a lot in the area but we found a bar up the road For our purposes the hostel was great.
