Great Location, super clean and nice front desk

Great location, right at the center of the historic part of the city. Most interesting spots are within walking distance and 3 different buses routes to get to other parts of downtown. Shared showers were comfortable, had hot water and was really clean! Wi-fi worked pretty well in my room. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful. My only issue with it was that there's no elevator. After spending the day walking up and down hills, it wasn't comforting to have to climb a lot of stairs. My room was 3rd floor and the kitchen was in the basement, for example.

Best experience for a first time sólo-traveler!

HI Montreal were so incredible kind throughout my whole stay. Place is clean, nice and tidy - breakfast is pretty average but definitely enough to make you full. On my last night I stayed in a 10-dorm mixed, and went down in the middle the night to see if I could purchase another room only with females for the last few hours to get some sleep as I had a very very heave snorrer. They re-booked me without charge for the rest of the night. I highly recommend staying here in Montreal. It's close to everything. Every single staff was super nice. Thank you so much for acommadating me. I'll definitely be back here when I come back to Montreal.

Ticks all the right boxes...

Clean, quiet, friendly, and great value. Places like this where you can get a good sleep in your own private room for a reasonable price are few and far between. Perfect location in town, walking distance to everything you need including the microbrasserie and restaurants in Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the beach and to the quay via the Chemin des Soeurs, the art galleries, and even their own museum. Very convenient for hiking in the Parc des Grands Jardins and ZEC des Martres (40km drive). I will come again on my bike, as they are also certified Bienvenue Cyclistes!

In a way, this hostel has way more to offer than a regular hotel/motel. You can use their kitchen to cook, do laundry, hang out in the common area...etc. Since this is a backpacker's hostel, you would have to make your own bed and take off the sheets when you are done with your stay. This is totally fine. Very economical as it is low cost with great value in my opinion! Hosts are very welcoming, attentive to your questions, and provide lots of care to you. Love what they have done to the place! Definitely give this place a try! Ditch the luxurious/normal hotels that everyone goes to.

Friendly pub with decent food

Reviewed By Tour68500491148

On a Monday night at the end of the season during the 4th wave of COVID-19 it is tricky to find somewhere that is open. The bar has a wide selection of micro brasserie beers on tap, some local, others from further afield in Quebec. Typical pub food is also available. We had the pork burger and traditional beef burger. Both were well cooked and tasted great. Covid-19 measures are in place but some staff did not stick to them when not serving. That said, whenever they were dealing directly with clients masks were used. The dog is a total softee and very friendly.

Booked this hostel since not much was available durring the dates we were traveling. The mattress was rock hard. There is no AC so we were sweaty all night. The only thing they had was little fans which didn't do much. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was delicious

Exactly what you expect. Easy to check in. Can be challenging if you don’t speak French but staff do try. Ask for renovated room as these are comfortable. Beware All Quebec City changes random extra taxes which they don’t negotiate which isn’t fair.

Auberge la Petite Ecole de Forillon

Sparkling clean hostel!

Reviewed By Pat5150

Truth be told, all I was really looking for was a decent place to stay near parc national de Forillon. L'Auberge La Petite École de Forillon was reasonably affordable and would prevent me from having to drive from/to Gaspé every day. But this hostel was much better than I expected! Went for a double room, which came with its own sink. Not that big in terms of size, but more than enough for my needs. There was an armoire to hang my clothes and plenty of drawers. There is a huge kitchen that was recently redone. Fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm. They could do with another fridge, for space can be limited if the hostel is full. But other than that, everything was perfect. The kitchen is linked to a spacious dining/living room. They are also building a new deck in the back which will offers views of the river. The staff keeps the place sparkling clean. I've never seen a hostel kitchen and bathrooms so clean and I've been to over 150 hostels around the world. Wifi worked throughout the hostel, but the signal is better in the dining/living room. There is a gameroom in the basement, but it needs a little love to make it more inviting. The place attracts a lot of families. So even though there is a dorm, it might not be the best place for solo travelers to meet other people. Then again, it's so much better than the other hostel situated in Cap-aux-Os that I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Regarding the national park, you are a 3-4-minute drive from the southern entrance, which was perfect. L'Auberge La Petite École de Forillon is definitely the place to stay for anyone wishing to take advantage of all that the national park has to offer. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Group Visit

Reviewed By Jayavyas_19

Came here end of April this year with a group of 11 of us. We booked in advance and were given a full 12 bed room, without having to pay the extra for the unused bed. Really lovely service from the staff from the start, offered towels and extra bedding when the room got slightly too cold one night. We were also in the room with the balcony which was an added touch that gave us all extra space also. Quebec city itself was quieter than we had hoped, however it was during the week. Despite this, it would have been nice if the bar in the hostel was open earlier in the week and didn’t wait until Thursday to open. Overall the place was clean, the kitchen was spacious for the amount of guests. Plenty of living and recreational areas. Friendly staff and a calm and safe living environment. Thankyou for accommodating us Qbeds!
