Unfriendly receptionist
Reviewed By Josie13123When we booked we paid for breakfast as well. Only until I asked what time is breakfast served then the receptionist mentioned the ‘chef’ was in hospital so there is no breakfast available. Then I got my money back. If I didn’t mention anything she wouldn’t have said anything. When we left to go to the airport I asked if she could arrange a taxi for us and she said we can pick one from the street. Not very good customer service. The room was basic but it was cheap as we just needed a place for one night. However the receptionist could be a little more friendly.

Comfortable place to wait for trains from the old Huangshan station
Reviewed By sielI don’t usually review hostels if I don’t sleep there but in this case I was so glad I found this hostel that I’m going to do it anyway: I had booked a (K) overnight train from the old Huangshan station, everyone presumes you need Huangshan north high speed railway station. Last bus there (i.e. to the high speed station) from Tangkou town went at 18.00 (also at 17.20 and 17.40) for the north station I took local bus 21 which connects both train stations, takes quite a while. Area around the old train station was pretty dark and deserted, I was very happy I spotted Koala hostel where I spent a couple of hours, had a nice curry dinner and some beers in their comfortable bar/common area. The experience on the K trains was rather bad: unfriendly staff and very dirty.

They have a brief with anyone wanting to climb mt huangshan, helping you decide on any route and logistics of everything. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, kettle and private bathrooms. Reviewed By Happiness01405484537这里有很宽敞的公共区域，可以一起玩UNO，可以一起唱歌，如果运气好，可以看见义工小姐姐的弹唱，嗓音绝对听了会怀孕那种，这里的房间也超干净，床位房很宽敞，有独立卫浴，热水也很足。青旅是在景区外面，如果不喜欢收费的宏村，可以去路上走走，去看木坑竹海，去滑翔伞基地，去奇墅湖，真的都很好，原来宏村不只有宏村，还有在路上和昆仑，这里绝对适合长住，不仅有酒，有咖啡，还有故事和超帅的店长小哥！

We are located Tangkou, Huangshan, just 700m from the Yellow Mountain.We have private rooms and dorms. Near our hostel, there are many restaurants, supermarkets and bakery shops, life here is convenient. In our hostel, you can enjoy nicce coffee and beer and also nice town view here. It's a good choice to stay here if you travel alone, because you will meet many travellers from all over the world.
Good place to stay before hiking the Yellow Mountain
Reviewed By NatureaheadLocation To get in here, I took a taxi from my long distance bus stop. It costs me 20 RMB, or you can walk like 2.5KM. This hostel is very close to the shuttle bus terminal for climbing the Yellow Mountain, it’s around 700 m, I did this on foot. Not so far from the hostel, there are tons of restaurants, shops, bakery, tea shops, food-souvenirs shops that open until 9-10PM. The price of the food is fixed price, some places already mentioned the prices on their window. The price The price is very good with good service and good location. Breakfast After you checked in, the staff asked us what do we want for breakfast and at what time, the options were beef ramen or soup dumplings. At the first day we chose the dumplings. It came in a big bowls, I think there were around 20s dumplings. And the second day, we chose beef ramen, it also came in a big bowl with a lot of noodles/pasta. So, for sure their breakfast portion is big enough to give you energy before climbing the Yellow Mountain. The taste is a bit tasteless, though. And they will ring your door as the breakfast already being served, the serving time was on time. Toilet There is no toilet paper inside. At my room, the bathroom is dark, because the light is only coming from the outside. It’s good that this place doesn’t support dispossable items. So bring your own towels, or bring your tooth paste & tooth brush. The bathroom has a leak, after I took shower, I could see there was water outside the bathroom on the floor. The room My room was small plus inside there is a big old tv taking its space, but feel hommy and cozy. There is a big hand-painting on the wall. It makes the ambience more cheerful. The pillows are too thin. There are 2 layers of blankets, one is very soft. The bed is hard. Public areas I like their design interior, with hand paintings on the wall and there are some paintings too that they hang there. . It feels like everything in there is hand-crafted. During two nights, I heard some people do karaoke or music being played in high volume, but after 10PM the hostel is very quiet. Internet The wifi connection was good and rather fast. Service We arrived around 5 pm. One receptionist speaks very well English and the other one doesn’t (but she can comunicate through the translate app and willing to help if we have questions). When we wanted to catch a bus to Tunxi, the receptionist offered us help for ordering Didi Taxi to the terminal station. Verdict This is nice place to stay if you want to climb the Yellow Mountain. Location is good, price is cheap, the service is friendly.

Wonderful Stay at Su House
Reviewed By Bradley LWe just love this place. It has the traditional Chinese look and feel but with all the modern facilities (it even has heated floor). We got the best room (#201). It has the best view. They are so generous in leaving excellent Chinese tea for guests to enjoy in our room and tea hall.

Great customer service
Reviewed By Josie13123The owner of the hotel is very kind and helpful. We needed a base to stay whilst visiting Huangshan Mountain and we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel. He picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station. It was quite a bit of distance between the two places so it’s definitely not walking distance! He provided us dinner at his restaurant which was nice. Before arriving for our stay he responded to messages instantly whenever we had any questions about the place. He helped arrange a visit for us to Emeralds Valley. The room was suitable for our stay, comfy beds and hot shower. The customer service definitely helped the place shine.

Reviewed By Chiara NThe hostel looks like a former hotel as most of the furniture is a little dated, but still functional. The bathroom might need some renovation in the future, and sometimes the hot water was not available during daytime while working fine in the evening. However, these are the only small points I can critique. The staff is super friendly, and while some of them speak little English, they will always try their best to help you. There is a nice bar / bistro area with a lovely puppy dropping in from time to time, and they offer activities to meet other travelers (like dumpling making). The railway station is only 15 minutes on foot - from there, you can catch buses to Mount Huangshan scenic area. After walking for about 20 minutes in the other direction, you can reach Tunxi old street with ancient architecture and nice shops, teahouses and restaurants. So the hostel's position makes it ideal to spend some time in the area.

Reviewed By river2014大河清明节期间在这家酒店住了两个晚上，这家青年旅舍是老板自己家的房子改建的，规模不算大，收拾的比较干净，重要的是位置很好，过一条马路就是屯溪老街，老街上吃饭的地方非常多。 【位置】 位于延安路，旁边是屯溪区公安分局，非常容易找。 【交通】 黄山市区屯溪面积不大，从汽车站乘坐出租车过来10元，10分钟内就到了。从汽车站乘坐公交车2路或8路到“二马路”下车后，步行3分钟就能到达。 【周边环境】 酒店所在的区域是黄山市区最热闹的老街地区，晚上老街的游客特别多，有很多特色小吃和当地美食可以选择，晚上在老街上的汪一挑馄饨店吃了不少小吃，价格也不贵。老街上全都是古色古香的徽派建筑，本身也是一个免费开放的景点。老街走到头过了大桥还有一条黎阳老街，那边人少一点，感觉更加时尚。 【服务】 网上提前订好的房间，入住非常快，住的是6人间，不提供一次性洗浴用品，没有拖鞋，但是可以从青旅里购买。房间里没有电视，可以Wifi上网，连接的速度还不错，很稳定。 【客房】 收拾的比较干净，房间里有卫生间和洗浴间，是合在一起的，每天都可以洗热水澡（可能有些房间的热水器不太好用，因为有其他房间的住客到我们这里来洗澡）。房间的隔音不算很好，但是晚上睡得还可以，不觉得吵。
