This tour was recently awarded a “Canadian Signature Experience” by The Canadian Tourist Association as one of the best tours offered in the region. Search for gold on the historic Li-lik-hel Mine Expedition. Ride on trails that were originally cut by the miners and have been pounded in by years of horses transporting the gold ore to the rail-head in the early 1900’s. Spend three days and two nights in BC’s spectacular Coast Mountain Range. During this time, you’ll explore the beautiful mountain range between Birkenhead Lake and the Li-lik-hel mine. Rivers, lakes, forests, alpine meadows, old mine packhorse trails and single track await your expedition. Sure-footed gentle mountain horses will carry you to each campground where our guides set up camp and cook a dinner around the campfire. Over the three days you will get to know the horse that we have picked to match your abilities and learn to appreciate their nature.

This was an excellent tour, even though the wine wasn't as good as I had wanted it to be. Michael took us to 3 wineries, including an unusual mead winery. Then, after lunch we visited what must be the world's (at least Canada's) biggest, in terms of different flavors, ice cream parlor. More than 200 different flavors of ice cream! An excellent tour, provided lots of context to the development of the wine culture in the area and a lot of history along the way. Great tour. Worth the money.

We went on May 14 2021 - Our operator Hannah was very knowledgeable, handled the carriage extremely well, the instructions spoken softly to the horse, JT, were heard and immediately responded to. The information provided to us was very interesting, even though we both have lived in Victoria all our lives, we heard items new to us!! Was a very enjoyable and relaxing tour on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Thank you so much, and we will join you again for another carriage ride. Bob and Joan

Shain was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. He originally gave us a ride from the harbour to our hotel. On the way to our hotel we got talking about tours that he does, so we booked him for a tour of James Bay and Beacon Hill Park with our friends. It was so much fun, I'm sure we will do it again.

I did this hike on the first week of April, with Jeff. What made the ice walk amazing was that Jeff kept it lively in addition to the beautiful scenery! I loved that it wasn’t crowded. For this reason alone, this tour is so worth it!
