Meeting and making lunch with Yoko was a fantastic experience and a great way to start our trip in Japan. We learnt so much about Japanese flavours and food culture, and made a delicious lunch of sushi rolls, gyoza, miso and two salads. Yoko was so lovely and interesting, answered my endless questions - like whether it’s true sushi shouldn’t be eaten with chopsticks - and had loads of great advice for a few days eating and drinking in Osaka. Thank you Yoko!

Yayo is a wonderful teacher and host, she welcomed me in her home and taught me how to make okonomiyaki and takoyaki. We also made matcha tea and taiyaki. We had such a lovely time with Yucco, learning to cook ramen and gyozas. It was very personal as there were only four of us taking part. It was also very nice to be in Yucco’s own kitchen - she clearly loves what she does and it was lovely for her to share her knowledge with us. We learnt not only how to cook these amazing Japanese foods, but also we learnt even more about the Japanese culture. By the end of the class, there was so much food to eat - you don’t need to have a big breakfast (if any) before you take part. I highly recommend this class.
