I bought my son a 'pub at Home ' from Hillside Brewery to help him celebrate his 2nd lockdown birthday at home and it was brilliant! The beer especially went down very well. The box contained a 5L keg of beer, a bottle of wine, 2 beer glasses, a couple of packets of crisps, a pack of playing cards and a spotify playlist. Great present, speedy delivery.

6 O’clock Gin Distillery Tours are perfect if you want to see ‘behind the scenes’ at a working distillery and experience the sights, smells and flavours of our working week. Your guides will conduct you around the building and show you some of the secrets and techniques that go into the distillation of 6 O’clock Gin and Bramley & Gage fruit liqueurs. Tours take place at 11.30, 14:00 and 17:15 every Saturday and last for around 1 ½ hours. Tickets cost £25 and include a perfect serve of 6 O’clock Gin & Tonic when you arrive as well as various samples of our delicious drinks throughout the tour. A very interesting afternoon. Our guide was informative and, over a welcoming glass of wine, told us about the history of this new vineyard and how the various grape varieties are used to make the different wines they produce. We also saw the pressing in operation and the fermentation shed, where the equipment was spotless. Then the hightlight - the tasting! We were given a range of different wines to try and the oportunity to buy if we liked them. This was a very relaxed afternoon.

Finally had a free Thursday evening where we were able to cycle along to Bath Ales for the tour something we’ve wanted to do since moving to south Gloucester last summer, it didn’t disappoint. Anyone living close to the Bristol to bath cycle path this is a must, it’s just off it and means you get to fully enjoy the samples on offer. Our tour guide Martin was brilliant, very knowledgeable and clearly enjoys what he does. The brewery itself is very impressive, clearly some money has been invested into it. The tap room bar is a little quiet with really only the people on the tour in there but it’s not highly marketed that it’s there something the bar staff told me they are working on. All in all an enjoyable evening.

Alice Robertson

My name is Alice and I started Alice through the year to share my passion for seasonal cookery. I run informal cookery workshops from my home in Worcester. With no more than 4, guests per session we gather round the Aga and cook a feast to celebrate seasonal local produce. I share my favourite recipes as well as tips and advice on cooking delicious meals. All workshops are very hands on, everyone works together to create a mouth watering lunch which of course we enjoy at the end of the session.

Met an ex work colleague for lunch here and it’s a lovely place to shop for fine foods and eat in the cafe or restaurant upstairs. Not cheap but well presented fresh meals served by pleasant staff. I just had a smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich with a side order but my friend had one of the daily specials of sea bream. Both dishes were superb and the deserts were irresistible. Great surroundings and will return soon to buy some specialities for my guests over Christmas.

Did the tour with beers to sample. Very interesting but the highlight is tasting the beer. The brewery Tap bar is really nice, cosy with candles and flowers and rugby on the telly. Fab, real beer; huge range of spirits if beer or cider is not your thing. Lovely staff, excellent shop across the car park.
