Oasis Down to Earth Farm

Oasis Down to Earth Farm is a community centre with a difference: we are based on a farm in urban Southampton. As a not-for-profit charity, our mission is to provide a socially inclusive, happy experience where people of all abilities and differences are respected and valued. We aim to educate, empower and engage with our local community. We offer people the opportunity to interact with animals and the natural environment. Based on a 5 acre site our facilities include a barn, dairy, large garden to grow fruit and vegetables, pond, woodland area, wood workshop and two fully equipped community buildings suitable for a range of indoor activities. During the week we offer activities for adults with Learning Disabilities, children with special needs (SEN and NEET) and groups for people living with Dementia. At the weekend we host children's birthday parties and are open to the general public.

Petlake Alpacas Of The New Forest

Reviewed By Bruce180852 - Christchurch, United Kingdom

What a great way to introduce our granddaughter to Alpacas, it’s a lovely 2 hour activity out in the woods with the children, ( big or small) leading the alpaca through the set trails in their own woods and grounds. The animals are used to walking and being led, so nothing to fear from the alpaca, I can’t say the same for the children..?? On returning to the farm, there’s goats, chickens, pigs, sheep all in pens or compounds to look at or pet. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, you’d be surprised at the answers, I learnt a lot, hopefully my granddaughter did also. We would recommend this to anyone with children, or adults.

Longdown Activity Farm

There's farmyard fun for the whole family at Longdown Activity Farm. Join in with a daily schedule of hands-on activities such as bottle-feeding kid goats and calves, duck feeding, and the Animal Encounter Barn where visitors can hold chicks and meet a variety of small animals - sometimes even Kunekune piglets. There are lots of larger, friendly animals to meet too. Whatever the weather, there is lots of playtime adventures to be had in the indoor and outdoor play areas which include the Straw Den and Trampoline Barn and the soft play area (these areas are currently closed following goverment guidance) When ground conditions allow, don't miss the fabulous bumpy tractor and trailer ride. No hidden extra costs for our daily schedule of activities. Make sure you visit the Longdown Farm Shop for delicious locally sourced food - a taste of the New Forest.

Finkley Down Farm Park

We opened our doors to the public 38 years ago and were one of the first ever farm parks in the country. We are now open all year round, with a massive indoor play barn with different areas for different age ranges. There’s lots of outdoor play as well, including the Little Farmers Driving School. Throughout the day there are animal handling and feeding activities for children to get involved in. Meerkat Mansion is our latest addition making a Farm-Tastic day out! We are so proud that we have people visit us from all over the country, employ over 60 people, run a quality restaurant – welcoming thousands of families 7 days a week and have won several awards. We hope you have a wonderful day and a massive thank you from us for making it all possible!

We take our little 2 year old here regularly and have done over the last 2 years, it’s rite on our door step and brilliant fun for all, sometimes we just pop up there with him for a play in the soft play or others for a full morning/afternoon out to see and feed the animals and have fun in the soft play, there is plenty to do and all the staff are friendly with the added bonus of a great little cafe which does some good food and cakes. I would highly recommend a visit especially if your local.

I can’t recommend Miller’s Ark enough! We had the absolute best day and couldn’t believe how hands on we were able to be - from going into the pens to stroke sheep and baby goats, to cuddling baby ducklings and even brushing donkeys. The staff were truly wonderful and were all dressed in elf costumes to tie in with the Christmas spirit. The little one even got to visit Santa and we were really pleased with the gift she received - she was truly chuffed! Plenty of social distancing guidelines in place and we felt perfectly safe on our visit. Will definitely be coming back!

Hockey's Farm Shop

All of the meat sold at the farm is very carefully sourced. We produce our own rare breed British Lop pork, our beef is produced by Andrew, our family friend in St. Ives, just outside Ringwood. We have lamb sourced from the Richard here in the New Forest or from Dorset. Paul is also in the New Forest, his bronze and white turkeys are excellent and available for Christmas. Nathan, our butcher, only sources meat that is fully traceable, free from unnatural additives and, of course, very good. Our sausages and burgers, all made here, contain no additives or preservatives. Our Farm Shop stocks every day provisions, fresh locally baked bread and pastries, newspapers, local fruit and vegetables, dairy produce, fish products and a well-chosen selection of wines and local beers and much more. `The Farmyard Café`, is licensed and serves Lavazza coffee along with tempting hot and cold snacks. You are welcome to wander around the farm to see our collection of rehomed domestic animals, our farm animals, the sheep, the British Lop pigs, the chickens and ducks and the birds in the aviary and of course, Nemo, our New Forest foal amongst others. We pride ourselves on supporting the local community and local producers whilst providing good service, a friendly approach and all that is traditional in a farm shop. We look forward to seeing you, either at the farm or when we deliver to you.

What a great little farm shop. The fresh meat is delicious, although slightly pricey, it’s worth saving up for. Lovely selection of farm shop goodies

Goodall's Strawberry Farm

Reviewed By jasonhS593DI

This is only my third TA review as I'm too lazy to make any comments on a visited "attraction" or "destination". However, this was a giggle for me, 'er in doors, the mother-in-law and the accompanying ankle-biter (10yrs). Nothing hectic, not nail-biting, extreme, nor "gnarly" or bonkers. Yet it was unique in two ways: 1) In the UK you just don't find pumpkin fields, let alone the opportunity to pick your own / allow the ankle-biter to transport the "chosen-one" and then clean it. 2) Drink good tea. The British drink tea. The British like tea at tea-time, preferably with a slice of cake. It's awfully nice when the tea and cake are top-notch. It's even better when the tea is served in a tea-pot with a tea-cosy when you're outside / waiting for the AB to bring in the "chosen-one". Not an everyday request, but following a little fettling, hey-presto, a tea-cosy, with embroidered strawberries on it. Now, the result. It was the finest cup of Earl Grey tea I have ever had the opportunity to taste (two pots later, I've never been to loo so much). It was the finest fruit cake (sorry Mum) I, again, have had the opportunity to taste. Go. It's fun. And drink tea and eat cake. PS - The "chosen-one" pumpkin had their head carved-up, guts extracted, seeds cleaned, baked, sprinkled with a little olive oil, salted and eaten. Cheaper than a pension!
