Good hospitality, would be perfect in summer
Reviewed By 394shirelletMe and my sister stayed with Artur and Elena in October. We were booked for 10 days, but went home after 7. This was not anything to do with Artur and Elena. First things first, the helpfulness of Artur and Elena is absoultely amazing. They was nothing they could not do for us, from taking us shopping the first day for food, to finding English teabags for us and then taking us into Durres towards our last day so we could go shopping. Artur even walked us around the local area to show us where the (limited) restaurants were. Artur changed our euros into Albanian Leke and then back again on our last day when we had money left. I could not fault the hospitality of Artur or Elena, and if it hadn't been for them, we would not have stayed as long as we did. However this leads me to a few little niggles. October is not a good month to go to Albania. Artur and Elena are close to the beach, and the apartment would be amazing in the height of summer with everything open and all the restaurants down the beach, but in October there was barely anything open or anything anything do in the area. We spent most of our time in the apartment which led to us deciding to go home early as we could do that in England The apartment is basic, no complaints, for €30 euro a night you get what you pay for. Air conditioning was good (but cold in October), beds were clean clean comfortable comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook and a mini fridge. The shower is strange (it's not contained just a square on the floor) and the bathroom often remained wet for hours but I think this is an abroad thing. We also learned the hard way not to flush toilet paper! The WiFi is excellent and we relied on netflix for entertainment most evenings. Artur and Elena had warned us before arrival that the restaurant on site would be closed due to us being the only ones staying. This was a shame as Elena kindly made us a bolognese one evening and it was amazing. In terms of staying again in the height of summer with everything open I think hotel Eleart would be a wonderful base for local amenities, but in October it is limited and there is not much to do. Artur and Elena are lovely and welcoming, and nothing was too much. But beware of the mozzies and wasps, there was a stagnant moat around the accommodation and we recieved several bites during our stay. We did feel very safe as two female travellers and again as I've said the hospitality of Artur and Elena was second to none, but choose carefully when to travel.

Reviewed By tiar20211The apartment was very close-by the city center very easy to find and the owner had a great approach.In terms of cleanness 10/10 everything smooth and sharp.wifi connection and nice plasma tv, will definitely stay here every time i come back in Tirana.

Reviewed By Passenger656400We love vacationing in Albania and at Vila Gersina in Golem is now a favorite place to stay! The accomodations are great, our apt was very clean and everything was recently updated. We felt at home! The property has a lovely garden with a grill that can be used by guests. The hosts are absolutely amazing, very friendly and responsive. We loved our morning esspresso with the owner as we learned a bit of history. The beach is only 5 minutes walk from the property. There is a pedonale where you can bike or the kids can enjoy rides for relatively a cheap price and a colorful selection of live music restaurants in the area. We were also able to go on adventure bike ride all the way to Durres. It took us about 1 hr to bike to Durres town but we thoroughly enjoyed it. This is one of the best places you could stay in Golem! For the price charged this place has a lot to offer- more than worth it!

Poor staying
Reviewed By Road540176I was there with my wife and we reserved for 2 nights . Location is decent . Cleaning is decent but there are many problems. There no receptionist but she has left a paer with her number if you need here you have to call her and wait for 10-30 min to get what you requested . There is no security or hotel staff during all day. When we arrived we had absolutely no toilet paper and hair dryer in our room . We called and requested but after 25 mins we got only toilet papers . We never received the hair dryer. This hotel use to be good in the past but many things have changed . I would not suggest it . We paid 50 euro per night .

If you're looking for sencere and cordial people together with nice sea and beautiful nature - welcome to Albania, and especially to Ardo Apartments. Staff is amazing and very helpful! I feel we became friends having 11 days only. Rooms are spacious and well equipped (but some improvements still may be done). Distance to the beach is 5-7 min walk; sea has sand bottom, so when there are a lot of people (weekend), it is quite turbid. There is a pool at the enter to the beach(appr 6-8 USD/day for 2 places with umbrella). A lot of restaurants are located near beach area with very low prices (appr 16-25 USD/visit). We travelled with child, but there were no inconveniences with that - everything was organized on high level. Transfer from/to airport is possible (25 Euro- one side); car renting is available in Ardo (this is very convenient as the closest city where you can rent a car is Durres, 38 km)- 30 Euro/day.

The apartments are located, in a non very frequented area of Tirana. On both sides there are shops, boutiques, who trades clothes, shoes, accessories, etc, of well-known brands. Local coffee shops and restaurants are minutes away.
