We got Vlad as our driver/guide and had the best time ever. Our group was late and he patiently waited for us, and then gave us one of the best experiences ever. We were a group of yarnlovers and he took us to 2 yarn factories, arranged a small tour for us there, showed us some waterfalls outside the city, stopped for toilet breaks and chatted and laughed with us. He was so knowledgeable and this was an excellent way to see the sights of Bergen. We can highly recommend him and this tour to anyone.

Glacier cruise to the Folgefonna glacier, with fjord cruise and VIP car transportation. Typically we start around 10:00, you are picked up on in the hotel garden, next to the swimming pool. We cruise out the Hardanger Fjord to the village Jondal, where our VIP car (BMW X5) is waiting for you. We continue up to the Folgefonna glacier, about 19 km. Up at the glacier, we can either just walk over to the glacier for a look, touch and feel, or hire a (VIP) guided tour on the glacier for typically 3 hours. When finished on the glacier, we drive back down to the village. We can have lunch at the local Jondal hotel, or continue to Odda city by car for lunch, with some more options. After lunch we drive to the Låtefoss waterfall 15 minutes up the valley from Odda, spectacular waterfall. Return to hotel by car, and we should be back around 18:00. We arrived in Eidfjord by car from Oslo around 3 PM, and our travel agent had booked this boat for a fjord cruise to Ullensvang. It was planned to do a detour via Fyksesund, which should be a good spot. Boat was ready in Eidsfjord when we arrived, and after a short stroll in the streets with some lovely icecream from a small shop, we went onboars the boat. We had no rush at all, and agreed with the captain to take it easy most of the time, slow cruising to enjoy the fjord. After a while we arrived Fyksesund fjord, and as the rumors said- it was a lovely place. We cruised in the fjord towards several small waterfalls, and have never seen something like this. Captain manouvered the boat into the waterfall, and my wife got on the foredeck to have a shower under it, even though it was a little cold it was an amazing experience. We opened a bottle of wine and njoyed the rest of the cruise, heading for our hotel at Lofthus. We must say that this cruise made the day for us, and the fjords live up to its rumor, LOVELY!!

(This experience occurred in August 2018, which was not offered in the drop down list.) If you are a photographer, this is the BEST way to see Dalsnibba and the beautiful scenery on the way to the summit. If you take a bus, (1) it doesn't stop and (2) you don't get to experience the sights and sounds of a beautiful place. The day that we went was cold and rainy, and I'll warn you that there's no heater in the electric vehicle. However, the experience was one that I'll never forget or regret. After a short, but informative, orientation at the station, you take off for the summit. I was warned to not punch the accelerator to the maximum on the ascent, as there is enough charge in the battery to reach the summit at a moderate speed, but not full speed (there's a gauge on the dash to advise power usage and storage). The vehicle partially recharges as you coast on the descent.

Would thoroughly recommend this tour. We were trying to decide between this one and Norway in a nutshell but we’re relieved we chose this one. The waterfall absolutely was beautiful and the viewpoint shouldn’t be missed! The fjord cruise was absolutely amazing, it’s environmentally friendly and so so quiet, you glide across the water. The van was very comfortable and the driver very knowledgeable. We definitely recommended this to anyone visiting southern Norway - highlight of our trip. Also there’s usb charging on the boat and van.

I really can't say I've got to grips with Norway after my recent Covid secure trip there up the ffjirds on a cruise ship with other sufferers of my particular condition. One small issue is it's always said that all Norwegians speak English but I definitely met several who hadn't a clue what I was talking about when ordering pork chops on one of our excursions inland to Innlanden so that aspect was disappointing. Also I learned that a Smurfasbord is a kind of buffet similar to the English buffet but with fewer items from the yellow food groups such as our much loved crisps and cheese. Mr Gudmunjohansennn the ships croupier talked me through it in impeccable Norwegian so I had to deduce what he was saying from his admirable skill at pointing at things and either smiling or frowning. Was glad to get home to Sharon and normality.
