Reviewed By Jafo19DThis place has both Villas which have their own pools and hotel rooms which is where we stayed. I think there are about 12 rooms. The rooms are very Spartan, nothing fancy; this is not the Ritz or Westin. Bed is very firm which is ok with me. Walls are really thick which helps with privacy but the windows are very thin so there goes that perk. The shower did not have hot water but the weather is hot so not too much of an inconvenience. Satellite TV, remote controlled A/C and a fridge. The rooms all share a small pool which we only dipped in once. There's a small cantina that serves beer, liquor, sodas, and snacks at reasonable prices. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly except for the breakfast guy on the first day. He seemed to be upset that some of us got up early and that he wasn't expecting this. He was much more pleasant the second day. The maids are soooooo friendly and asked us not to leave. Breakfast itself was boring: choice of eggs, coffee, juice and bread. NOt sure where it happened but my son and I got a nasty stomach bug. We are guessing that it was from drinking juice SOMEWHERE in Villavicencio. Drinking tap water is fine in Bogota, no issues, but next time I will turn down any juices mixed with water here or any other place in Villavicencio. Don't know which place got us sick because we ate at different restaurants. My GF was disappointed because she had come here years ago and stayed at a villa which she said is much nicer. By the way we paid COP $838,400 (about USD $270) for two rooms for two night. There are some other nice places I'd like to check out for another visit but I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Fue delicioso dormir con el arrullo del sonido del arroyo y despertar con la sinfonía de los pajaritos que llegan al jardín interior. Otra cosa muy buena es que mucho centros comerciales y lugares donde pasar un rato agradable están cerca de modo que puedes ir caminando.

Anything I needed they were always willing to help. This hotel is near everything which is amazing. Will be staying here again when I come back with more friends and family.

El tv no servía, después de 24 horas no me quisieron dar otra habitación en el piso de arriba viendo que todo el hotel estaba solo, me dieron una habitación al otro lado del hotel más pequeña a la media noche que llegue , no me pase ... las instalaciones son bonitas, pero les falta mantenimiento, nos atendió solo una persona,.. que era portero, recepciónista, mesero y todero,. Después de las 8 pm apaguan todo... A oscuras todo.. no hay servicio de bar ni de nada...ni de piscina., Igual para no buscar hotel pregunte por otra noche y me salía más barato con booking y me seguían cobrando más allá mismo .... Desayuno incipido. No probe las comidas , pa completar hay como mil gatos que se pelean por la noche y no dejan dormir... Ah y los baños de las habitaciones no tienen puerta....que incómodo.... conclusión..no se preocupan por hacer sentir cómodo al huésped... Después me fui a hotel sunrise .. que diferencia... Mejor atención...piscina hasta tarde ..gran variedad de comidas y bebidas...puedes estar con tu mascota dónde quieras. Sin problema..todo el personal muy atento y las habitaciones super... Algo bueno tenía que pasar . ..

Too expensive for what you get
Reviewed By D1784MZandreaaRooms are awful, they need an urgent remodeling and also they are not cleaned properly, shower doesn’t work well either. Outside it was a little bit better but not that much, there was trash around the pool and even though it is a problem of education from the visitors, also is the hotel responsibility to keep everything clean and tidy. Also the pool tables were dirty and I saw nobody cleaning them during my visit. Gardens and corridors are well kept though. Of course December is a busy month but despite we booked in March, the price was really high for the hotel room we got. Sylvester Party had a good live band and they did have many cute details to impress the hosts, however food was cold and they also charged an important amount of money for it (200.000 COP) Nice horses show (I thing they spend all their money in the horses rather than the rooms), friendly staff and a good place to breath fresh air and be around nature.

The gardener has a lovely dog who followed him everywhere. The chef who made breakfast was so helpful and endlessly smiling. Don't come for the mod-cons, come for the charm and personality

Reviewed By solabaresWe just got back from a four day stay at Hotel Mastranto. What an incredible family vacation! Let me tell you why… The property itself is beautiful. It is far from the highway, so the only sounds you hear are natural. There is no music blared at the pool, all too common in many hotels. There are some special parts. The creek has a natural pool built as a swimming hole. There is a waterfall and we saw about ten fish swimming downstream. It is clean and fresh. There are two swimming pools. The main pool is large, impeccably clean (cleaned every day), and has a nice shallow area around the edge. The kids’ pool is round and perfect for the little ones learning to swim. There is also a natural lagoon with a walking path around it. We probably walked around it eight times. There are many kinds of flowers, turtles, and at least one alligator (we saw its snout and eye poking out of the water) in the lagoon. It is perfect for sunrise strolls. There is a farm connected to the property. We woke up to watch the workings of the farm: milking the cows, calves reunited with mothers to feed, turkeys, parrots, goats, and chickens. It would be great if they trained David, the farmer, to allow children to help with these tasks. The restaurant is clearly clean (open air kitchen) and serves delicious food. We had mojarra (fish), chicken breast, lentils, vegetable soup, breakfast with freshly prepared arepas, and lemonade. It is served in a giant open air space with a roof, so you dine with views of the lagoon and the pool. The entire hotel is lush and green. One guest saw an owl perched on the volleyball pole on evening. Walking to the creek, we saw a bright green iguana, which we observed for a few minutes. They offer horseback riding, and there are two horses grazing freely on the farm. The service is spectacular. Maria is a great host who attended to our every need. Travelling with a one-year-old and a small boy isn’t easy. They made it easier. The rooms are a bit small, but after a day walking and exploring, we didn’t need a huge space. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are spotless. We will definitely be back to Mastranto, a very special spot in Los Llanos. It is about 15 minutes from Villavicencio, close to Tiuma Park.

Reviewed By Miguel2105Weaknesses: - Shower drain in our room was not working very well and apparently it's a design flaw; - DirecTV remote was never able to turn on the TV, so I used my cellphone app instead; - Wi-Fi was weak in our room. Significant weakness: - NOISE. -- Night one, we hardly noticed anything in our room; -- Night two we did notice. When you sell liquor to people until 10 pm, you'll not be able to silence them at 11 pm, if ever. Come 3 am, shouting, doors banging, dicussions woke me up immediately. Measures were taken by the hotel management after I discussed that with them the following morning; --Night three, no noise inside the hotel; sadly, that was the end of "Operacion Retorno" so truck traffic that was held to allow families to go home was released. That's were being near a highway becomes a disadvantage, as the hotel's walls and floors, made from very modern ceramic and concrete do not isolate any noise. I am a very light sleeper, but earplugs might be a good bet for anyone. I intended to sleep in, but there was a construction out back, and they started 7 am so that part also failed. It's an issue that is overcome by the many strengths the hotel has and can be minimized by the adequate mitigation measures from the guest. STRENGTHS: - Staff was super attentive to our needs; - Facilities were brand new, beautifully designed and very modern; - Location is near shopping malls and in a highway hub, so every place of interest was very accesible; - Price was very fair with lots of bang for the buck; - Bed and sheets were very confortable; - Climate control was working very well; - Food from the small restaurant was of very good quality; -Wi-fi was offered for free, as was breakfast; - Parking was offered in a closed space within the hotel, so security was not a concern. All in all, a very enjoyable experience!
