Bernadette and Armin are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough for you. Breakfast is out of this world. Fruit salad is to die for, best I have ever eaten. So much choice of meats, breads, cheese, a fantastic spread and lots of choice suitable to all tastes on the menu. Wonderful place to stay to explore the Burren and Aran Islands

Reviewed By stephanegroud

Hazelwood Lodge is perfectly located to explore the surrounding area (Burren National Park, Aran Islands -> Doolin is 30mn away by car, Aillwee Caves literally around the corner) but it is not just the location that makes this B&B a great place to stay. Victor and Geraldine are such friendly hosts and have tastefully decorated and maintained their lodge, with clean, spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The surroundings are green and quiet, and the breakfast is delicious with a large choice of options for all tastes. To top this off, the lodge is 3mn away by car or 15mn walk away from the centre of Ballyaughan and a number of great restaurants. Monks was our go to place and we were treated to a wonderful sunset. Would definitely recommend Hazelwood Lodge and stay there again!

This is a friendly lovely family run place. My room was extra comfortable & the owners were quick to help and answer any questions. It really is a comfortable place and despite being on a road into the village it was quiet and i would know. It was an easy walk to the local pubs and restaurants. Lots of on site parking. I highly recommend.

Different in a Good Way

Reviewed By Kathy B

The pictures of The Waters Country House can't quite capture just how different and quirky (in a good way) The Waters is. It was great to have rooms, other than one's bedroom, to relax in. The fact that fires were lit and an honour bar added to the atmosphere. However, what I really appreciated was Wolfgang and Maria's willingness to change the booking mistake I'd made. Lovely place, lovely hosts

We stayed for 2 nights at Doolin Inn. After a long drive we arrived at 4.30pm and were told that the restaurant had a private function until 7pm. Doolin is quite spread out and doesnt have many places serving food if you are in the pier end, we drove to the other end to get food(in another hotel that also had a function on but accommodated us). Room was nicely laid out, bed was or felt like a queen size and the shower had very little power in it. Walls felt like paper, could hear everything next door. Breakfast was excellent and Staff were friendly and helpful in the morning. We tried to book lunch the next day but told there was another function and tried to book lunch on our last day for the craic but told there was another private party! We felt like the great unwashed! It would have been better if told at check in or by email in advance that all these parties were booked in so to plan out a weekend. There should be an area to cater for hotel guests or even offer room menu. All in all it was an average stay but for the breakfast service.
