Reviewed By istanbulhillsWe recently stayed at The Göcek Apart Hotel for two nights while visiting Göcek for an open water swimming competition. The units are modern, clean and serviceable. Having the small kitchen was a great benefit as we needed to prepare a high protein, early morning breakfast for ourselves one day. The balcony was large and had a nice drying rack for all our towels and swim suits. The hotel is located a short walk from the harbour and we were also able to use the very reasonably priced Havas bus at Dalaman airport, as the hotel is just a ten minıute walk from were the airport transfer bus drops you off. The staff were all friendly and accommodated a slightly late check out as we were still swimming our 6 km race!!! After finally checking out, we headed downtown to the seafront to get a bite to eat. When we finished our meal and asked for our bill we were told that Vira Apart Hotel had paid our bill as a thank you and congratulations on our swimming success. We were blown over and wondered how the hotel knew which restaurant we had gone to. They told us Göcek was very small and everyone knew each other. Of course, when we returned to the hotel to pick up our bags before going to the airport, we told them how thoughtful they were. For a small hotel to show this type of appreciation in a pandemic year which has meant everyone in the tourism industry has lost money, was truly remarkable.

Lovely Boutique Hotel
Reviewed By joannes157We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is right in the center of Gocek which is very laid back with a lovely promenade which runs right across the front of the marina with lots of bars and restaurants and comes alive in the evening. The hotel is lovely inside very nicely done and modern but the staff did not understand English very good except for Urchion on reception who was great and very helpful. The Turkish breakfast was nice and the restaurant and roof bar were lovely to sit even though it was hard to get a drink in the bar at night. Now I have given it a 3 star because our room was very small and was like a sauna due to the air con not working which we did report twice, also the safe did not work and the toilet stopped flushing on our second day and leaked. I would return to Gocek but not this hotel.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Ugliest)

The Good: New hotel, clean, close to center (modest breakfast, small pool) The Bad: Nobody welcomed us, unhappy staff, The Ugly: Beware of the owner (elderly man) . He is surprisingly unpleasent and hostile. Never said welcome to us. When asked if he can do something about the knock-down bed's thin matrisse, he said "nobody complained about that before", "its not him but the manufacturer of the bed to blame about the thin matrisse", "you should have paid more and reserved a better room with a proper bed". Surprised to see that he is not making sense we stopped talking to him since we could not allow him to ruin our mood. Just stayed away from him afterwards. After driving 640 kms we cannot let him ruin our holiday. We stayed only two nights. The last night my wife, me and my son we slept on the double bed because the knock-down bed was so uncomfortable. While we are leaving we saw that there was another spare bed unused on the corridor and may be if they had given its matrisse to us, the bed would have become comfortable to sleep on. So its not that he can not help us but he does not want to help us. We have every reason to believe that the staff were unhappy because of the owner. The staff looked caring and helpful but we could not even say goodbye to them and left the Hotel early in the morning without even having our breakfast. Göcek is a very nice place to stay with all of its beauty and nature, please do not let this review shadow your perception of Göcek. Bu otel aslında güzel bir otel, ancak yaşlı sahibi basit bir ricada bulunduğumuzda bize hiç yardımcı olmadı ve kırıcı şekilde konuştu. Söyledikleri sayesinde otelinde misafiri gibi hissedemediğimizi belirttik filan ama anladık ki konuşulması anlaşılması imkansız bir insan. Konu da incir çekirdeğini doldurmaz, açılır kapanır yatak ekleyebileceklerini söylemişlerdi odaya oğlumuz için, o yatağın süngeri çok ince, yatınca yatağın demirleri batıyor sırtına bir kaç sünger minder filan verebilir misiniz altına sermek için dedik, "başka kimse o yataktan şikayet etmedi, yatağın imalatı öyle, parasını ödeseydiniz de düzgün yataklı bir oda ayırtsaydınız" diye cümleler kurdu. İnanamadık tatile oteline gelmiş insanlara bunları nasıl söyleyebildiğine. Lahavle dedik, 640 km yoldan sonra çoluğun çocuğun tatil keyfini kaçırmayalım diye kendisini yalnız bıraktık. Bu otelde kalacaksanız bu yaşadıklarımızı bilerek kalın istedim. Çalışanların yüzünden düşen neden bin parça onu da anlamış olduk. İyi tatiller.

Reviewed By UlfJ13725 m from the quay, where all the day-trip-boats are moored you find this little nice hotel. Family run with very freindly and helpful staff. We had an avreage sized room with a small balcony and a little side-sea-view. They also have rooms with full sea-view. Tiled floor, fresh, clean, air-con, Wi-Fi in public areas The breakfast was really good and served at the table!

So much love and thought have gone into the building of this beautiful boutique accommodation. You can feel the passion, and the team have such incredible energy. We wished we could have stayed longer, however, this place is so popular, you'll need to book in advance. The build quality and finishings are in a different league compared to other Airbnbs we've stayed in around Turkey. There is no wood veneer in sight; think solid wood, not one piece of Ikea furniture to be seen, and very high-quality finishings for your comfort. This place is also perfect for those that want to self-cater. It is fully equipped to do so or take advantage of the abundance of dining establishments on the doorstep. You will find a washing machine, a dishwasher, a lovely balcony to watch the sunrise over the mountains, or simply people-watch. It has everything you need. There was plenty of hot water and lightning-fast wifi, perfect for digital nomads, especially with the cafe below, a popular digital nomad spot we noticed over the weekend. We often sat downstairs in Epocafe and felt it had a chic coastal style reminiscent of Byron Bay or Noosa in Australia. Epocasa is located above Epocafe, a beautiful, modern sunfilled coffee shop brews the best coffee we've tasted in our five-month journey around Turkey. You also have Epoca Carpet, a traditional Turkish rug store for perusing or shopping. Think more relaxing furnishings, chill out on the green grass outside, chilled tunes, and Oktay, and the team exude warm energy and full of positive vibes. Gocek is a hidden coastal gem; large developments are banned, nothing over two-story-high, calm, relaxed community vibe, super-yachts, and catamarans dot the harbour and marina. Peaceful views and spoilt for choice for dining. You'll want to stay for a week to ensure you leave refreshed, and you will make many newfound friendships.
