10 Bed and Breakfast Inns in Galway: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 24, 2023 Lean Nau

For visitors, the best thing about Galway is that you can walk everywhere. As soon as you arrive, enjoy a walk through the city streets. There, you'll find lively pubs, independent shops and winding cobblestone streets packed with students, artists, writers and craftspeople. You may even hear Gaelic spoken. For a day trip, take a ferry to the island of Inis Mor. You'll return refreshed by the ocean air and Inis Mor's breathtaking scenery. Oh, and be sure to wear sunscreen on the island, no matter how chilly it is. (Just trust us, okay?)

Marie is an amazing host

Reviewed By buonnatale

Marie is so friendly and nice. Her dog Russell is an elderly prince, if you're lucky you will catch a brief glimpse of his magical self. Definitely do not use Apple Maps when driving here, it kept bringing us to the wrong location. Make sure you use Waze or Google Maps. There is parking out front, but not too many spaces, luckily you can park at any location on the street in the little subdivision. The house has a cool 90's decor vibe. The windows open so you get a nice breeze. There is a tea station for use anytime, as well as snacks. Breakfast is delicious. The location is pretty good. I think it's best with a car. There is a great Thai restaurant that we ate at - located in some sort of weird shopping center/ industrial park - about a mile away called Khow Thai: do yourself a favor and eat here. Take a drive around the Connemarra region and enjoy. The room is mostly comfortable, we had some height issues though, staying on the top floor. My husband is 6'3" and between the extremely sloped walls in the bedroom and the bathroom, and the bathroom door being maybe 5'10", he kept banging his head off the ceiling and doors over and over. If I had known this, I would have requested a room on the first or 2nd floor instead.

its a bit out of the town but i didnt mind that, the room was very small (toilet was 2ft away from bed), i accepted that. the bar was ok and the food looked good - what time is it served until - two members of staff told 9pm last orders. went don the town and came back up at 8-15 and asked if i could order a meal - place was busy. was told kitchen was closed !! no reason just closed. it became clear when i returned after eating a burger i didnt want - it was close because they were having quiz night and needed the tables. went to my room at 1030 to find it was unbearable because of the noise of the quiz downstairs. eventually quietened down around 12 Breakfast was good try and get a deal at Jurys,

Clean and friendly in a great location

We enjoyed staying here. Staff was exceptionally friendly, and the room was very clean and comfortable. We’d been staying at b&b’s and this seemed quite roomy. Since it’s about 1 minute walking from Eyre Square, it’s a great value. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice but noisy

Reviewed By Eleanor M

Really lovely place but just don’t stay here at the weekend if you want to sleep before 2am. Really sorry to leave a review like this- stayed for 3 nights (Wed-Saturday), the first two nights were great, but on Friday night we discovered our room shared a wall with a late night bar that played super loud music (all your favourite club tunes) until 2am. Other than that everything was great, rooms are compact but have everything you need (lovely shower, clean and modern interior, comfy bed and a big TV) We let them know about the noise on check out and whilst they did apologise, the said they had already done everything in their power to soundproof the room & ‘that’s the trade off for being in the centre of the city’. I appreciate that, but do think there should be some mention of it on their website because listening Flo-rida with the bass turned up at 2am was pretty a unpleasant way to round off what otherwise would have been a nice stay.

Booked in here for one night. Initially I however as the evening progressed a bad smell was in the bathroom and out into the bedroom. Windows left open but this was no use, smell remained. Had to leave as ended up with a terrible headache due to the smell. Had been offered to.be moved to another room but due to headache we left and drove the 4 hour home. Had paid when we landed and have asked twice for even partial refund however messages are not being returned. Place could be doing with some updated work. Wouldn't recommend at all
