Palace Hotel & Spa is a luxury 5 star hotel in Durres. It has an excellent location facing the Adriatic sea. The hotel offers private beach, outdoor pool, fitness center and Spa, 2 restaurants and 1 piano bar. Our hotel is located 30 minutes far from Tirana’s airport, 10 minutes from Durres. Our luxury hotel was opened in June 2013 to serve as a hotel for the business, vacations, relax and the organization of different family and business events, always making sure that our customer gets a 5 star service by a professional staff.
Excellent service and wonderful stay
Reviewed By wbatesyOur first trip abroad post-pandemic, we had high hopes for this hotel - and it more than delivered! Located half an hour or so walk / 5-10 mins by taxi outside of the main Piazza in Durrës, you don’t get more beachfront than the Palace. There were bars, restaurants and supermarkets all nearby. They were communicative pre our arrival and ensured we had a transfer waiting. Our airline did not put one of our bags on the flight but the hotel helped chase this up the next day (we did eventually have it delivered to us.) The room was large enough for us, usual amenities and a very large bathroom but the main selling point was the fantastic view - it couldn’t be beaten, overlooking the pool and beach. The bar and restaurant were excellent and service good. The internet worked throughout for browsing and streaming, from the beach to the room and all of the public areas. Though the restaurant is more pricy than local restaurants, the food was of a high standard, they were adaptable and it was still very reasonably-priced by Western Europe standards. Breakfast for us was included and was more than adequate, having continental, Albanian and cooked options, buffet-style. We used the indoor pool and jacuzzi in the spa and had no complaints. As it was out of season, our little son was allowed to join us which was welcomed as the outdoor pool was still too cold to use despite being lovely to sit around. The private beach, perhaps because it was out of season, wasn’t really private. The sand was okay but rubbish did blow onto it. Next door, the hotel was being renovated and so there was building work going on. This didn’t impact us but it didn’t look particularly aesthetically pleasing. The sea is separated from the sand by a sea wall - probably a metre or so drop to the water. This was unusual for us but again didn’t affect us. Often, a ‘five star hotel’ doesn’t actually match up to a five star standard when visiting less touristy countries but the Palace probably was at the standard. The biggest difference between the Palace and other areas/establishments around Durrës was that the standard was being maintained throughout and not just a one-off thought or gesture. Though Albania is still someway away from being a go-to tourist destination - it’s still probably for more hardy or experienced travellers rather than your average holidaymakers - if you did choose to go there for a mini break, I’d 100% recommend staying at the Palace.

Nice,calm place
Reviewed By aleksandrasR2673XAI highly recommend this hotel in September, it is very calm, quiet place to spend your holiday. The rooms are very clean and modern, there is a big pool with a separate part for kids. The only flaw is almost the same food every day. Although it is delicious, I am tired of pasta and pizza. Breakfast could be more diverse. If you have a possibility, book a room without food, but most of places in Durres also serve Italian food, so there is no choice. The staff is really friendly and helpful.

Reviewed By ShazzarinskiNever trust a hotel that keeps guests passports, on show, on a shelf behind the check in desk…I mean who does that!?!? When questioned, staff said ‘don’t worry, the manager went to Spain once and this is how they do it there!!’…maybe in 1978!! I was assured the desk was never left unoccupied by the girl who then left it to make a guest some coffee! Very little sleep had in a room with only one curtain for 2 windows. Lovely staff but very much NOT value for Money.

Perfect place for family. Best terrace with sea view and umbrella on the beach. Private parking and private beach. Wireless free. Payment credit card. 1 apartment for 5 persons. We have 1 bedroom apartments and 2 bedroom apartments. We have standard double room for 2 persons and Available suites with amazing view on the top floor for 2 persons . The best restaurant Italian style and pizza cooked from Italian cooker. Try one time and you come back with love..!
Our Albanian vacation
Reviewed By universitet123First of all I'd like to mention that is was our first visit to Albania,we knew nothing about this country before, that's why thoroughly looked for a hotel. We decided to choose Espana and we admired our stay there. Our room was on the upper floor, it was stylish and comfortable (two beds, a safe, a fridge, a kettle, a TV, a conditioner) Also a balcony. And the sea - you can just sit on the bed and watch the waves. I should mention that you can get in with the card (not a key) and this system is rather convenient. The beach is near, you can use two seabeds and an umbrella for free. The restaurant in the hotel is great, everything was tasty and for reasonable price. But the main thing is the Atmosphere:) The owner Tony tried to do his best we felt comfortably. He even let us stay longer than 11am for free cause our flight was in the evening. All possible and impossible questions we resolved with Mentor, he really helped us. Mendy, you're Incredible:) We fell in love:) Both Tony and Mentor are excellent English speakers and communicators. Due to my knowledge of English we had no difficulties in understanding each other. We'd like to come back one day and without any doubt recommend Espana!

Big private parking, good wifi, nice garden, great breakfast, Easily reachable and well signposted. A very nice hotel in Durres with a private beach
Reviewed By gastr0gezginWe stayed 6 nights with our chilren at Germany hotel. It has a large terrace and a private beach area, 50 yards from the hotel. I really enjoyed the meals at the restaurant. Incredible food & even better service. It has a lovely set up. Rooms are also very clean and functional. Worth to visit.

Reviewed By elturco78First of all hotel owner and his family are really nice people and try to help you in everything, hotel is just 30 meters far from beach, has own parking garage for your car, rooms are very clean, breakfast is better than many hotels in the area... we booked a room with view which booking was showing some rooms with sea view, some with land view and hotel gave us with land view, wish we had the room with sea view... if l go to durres again l would prefer to stay here again...

Wonderful hotel
Reviewed By dorin bWe stayed there for 10 days. The hotel is great(clean, staff very careful and helpful). Breakfast has plenty of options and you can order one espresso from the bar. They have a playground for children. Also there is an outside place for rest and playing cards for adults.The location is ok but better walk 10 minutes for a better beach!
