I like this museum for the way it focuses on the detail of day to day life in the past - the toys, the old street, the shops. It's interesting, especially as some of the exhibits are from living memory! My kids particularly like the bit about Daniel Herrick and call it 'The Fat Man's House'!

Tarpey Gallery

I`ve driven past this gallery many times but was encouraged to visit by an artist friend. What a delightful experience. We pulled into the small car park and were welcomed inside. We spent ages enjoying the fascinating selection of art work including paintings and sculpture over two floors in this compact but attractive setting. Luke left us to browse but he knew the right moment to offer coffee and a chat about the various artists. Because of this conversation i bought a wonderful print of his own work, which is a great reminder of a special day, when the weather and the sky over the beautiful sculpture garden were awesome, and i discovered a new favorite artist.
