Known as Yunnan-Fu until the 1920s, today it is a prefecture-level city and the political, economic, communications and cultural centre of the province as well as the seat of the provincial government. It was important during World War II as a Chinese military center, American air base, and transport terminus for the Burma Road. Located in the middle of the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, Kunming is located at an altitude of 1,900 metres (6,234 feet) above sea level and at a latitude just north of the Tropic of Cancer. Kunming has as of 2014 a population of 6,626,000 with an urban population of 4,575,000, and is located at the northern edge of the large Lake Dian, surrounded by temples and lake-and-limestone hill landscapes.

We viseted the café several times, and each time we were blown away by the incredebly friendly staff and the delicious food. The owner did everything he could to make the visit an amazing experience including giving us free desserts and giving us mosquito spray. I would most definitely come back! If you need a break from chinese food this is the go to place.

This place has the most authentic flat white Iâve had in China, so if you like your coffee I would highly recommend a visit. The space itself is very modern and comfortable. I can imagine spending a lazy afternoon here doing some work or meeting friends. They serve western food at very reasonable prices. We would recommend the burger!

Mangiamo requires a bit of effort to reach if you are to staying in that area of Kunming.Located in a hopping centre, the restaurant is more pacios than its level of clientele justify.The westernized chinese owner grows his own organic vegetables on his farm and also has olive trees where he grows his own olives and produces his own olive oil - which is quite good and very pure. This must be unique for China.Food is quite acceptable - for Italan in achina - particularly as during he period I was there his Italan Chef was in airaly or an illness in his family. But clearly he had trained the kitchen staff well.If you are looking for Italian food in Kunming this is now the only decent choice.

Fantastic coffee shop with consistently good coffee, The desserts are the best I've had in China so far. Obviously made fresh each day with top quality ingredients. It's quickly become my favourite coffee shop in Kunming! I recommend the layered mango cake!

Visited while on a business trip to Kunming with our clients. They were newly opened. Warm friendly yet professional service and italian fare was truly enjoyable and flavorful. Will be back again on my trip. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic Italian cuisine.

We had 2 visits here as the atmosphere looked great. The first meal was lovely, but the second time I had the pepperoni pizza. And I can't imagine anyone thinking this slice of bread with warm tough meat with cheese on resembles anything like pizza. And im still recovering the after effects now.
