A very enjoyable dinner with friends outside HaNi restaurant. Very tasty food especially the mince beef and beans with garlic (not on the menu but recommended by the host)We enjoyed ourselves despite arriving when some of the staff seemed to be eating takeaway outside. It was a bit difficult to find even with our Mandarin speaking Friends and nothing is in English. Menu has pictures though. Worth investigating as very reasonably priced ¥165 for 4!

Without a doubt this place has the best live music in town, there are always talented musicians from different nationalities on stage, there is a great variety of international beers and wines on the menu, and the cocktails are also quite good, it is also a great place hub knob as this is where the hip crowd hangs out, come early tough because due to old town regulations music has to stop at 11:00 pm.

In Yunnan is hard to find a good coffee in the morning and I'm an addict-:). N's kitchen has great english breakfast, capuccino and home baked whole wheat bread. What else do you need? We all very delighted to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast and our home made bread.We do very much appreciate your recommendation and hope you have a nice trip in China.

We can only comment on the food and the excellent service provided by the very talented Dutch proprietor, Peter [as we were staying at the Hui Feng Inn, which doesn't ordinarily serve meals (see separate review)].This is a vegetarian establishment and more care is taken with the food than in many restaurants. The menu is itself attractive and offers both a la carte and good value 'set' selections comprising, for example [in the case of breakfast], a freshly squeezed mixed fruit and/or vegetable juice (half size), fried potatoes with rosemary and baby toms, choice of eggs, toast & preserve and coffee or tea (38 yuan).Portions are generous and a bowl of noodle soup with vegetables is almost a meal in itself. We're meat-eating vegetarians and the food here made a very nice change in itself, and especially from Chinese! Even if you're on a day-trip from Lijiang and not dining then this is a great place to pause for a tea or coffee. Peter has a great selection all lovingly prepared and, whilst I noticed some inconsistency in the cheesecake, the apple strudel is excellent.

Stumbled across this place after walking around Shuhe.Only had beers, coffee and chicken wings so can't comment on the rest of the offerings but the cakes (which the next table had) looked delicious and the comments from the customers were all positive.

Its a great place to hang out, meet fellow tourists whilst having decent western food. We visited their branch at Shangrila and were surprised to find this latest outlet at Shuhe where we are staying. Masala Chai in a pot is good, we liked the coconut cake.

We were very impressed by the quality of food and service at Cornerstone. We had the fish and shrimp tacos, which were outstanding. Also probably the best cheesecake we have ever had in China. Staff is super nice. Yes! Our fish and shrimp tacos are local favorites. Hard shell tacos are hard to find, but we got'em!
