The Wuyuan Skywells is a Qing dynasty merchants house hidden in the rolling hills of the Wuyuan countryside. Hidden in the protected ancient village of yancun, the house avoided the madness of revolution, bulldozers and concrete which have typified the past 100 years - instead boasting fine woodcarving, stonecraft and 3 'skywells' (courtyards typical to these homes). Lovingly restored by a Chinese/ British family team and opened in spring 2017, we are spoilt with rolling views of the countryside, lush gardens, a cozy bar and light airy dining room. Our bedrooms all display art, newspapers, scrolls and artifacts we have recovered from inside the house, celebrating the stories of the many people who have lived in JinZhiChengTang (Jin family's hall of wisdom and success) before us.

Tastefully renovated to make a beautiful historic manor comfortable for today the team of skywells is extremely welcoming and helpful with everything you need. Jiajia, selina and Ed were there throughout to help with all itinerary and logistical needs - also opening their home for a wonderful celebration of New Years. We made dumplings with the family and had some amazing meals with a kitchen that never ceased! The village is very quaint with lots of beautiful areas to discover nearby on foot, by bike or car. Will definitely return, thank you for a lovely holiday!

Brook Hotel (Bridge Hotel) is a clean and friendly family run hotel, situated in the heart of picturesque Little Likeng, Wuyuan. It offers a variety of comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, hot showers, all you can drink Green Tea, free internet access and wifi. With an attached restuarant serving delicious home cooked food, including the local speciality red carp, the hotel can cater for large groups and the individual traveller. For english speaking guests, the hotel can help with any queries and advice on getting the most out of your stay in Wuyuan.
Traditional style hotel, clean, comfortable
Reviewed By SimonK270We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is right in the centre of the quaint historic town. When we first arrived Linda, the owner, was looking out for us - it's a bit of a walk from the car drop off along the riverfront. It is a fairly basic hotel and mainly frequented by Chinese travellers (as is the town itself) but has everything you want to use it as a base for exploring the town and the surrounding areas. The owner's husband used their car to take us on day trips and we enjoyed meals sitting outside by the river (unlike many places they have an English menu). The freshly cooked food was tasty. Recommended for an authentic Chinese village/rural experience.

Reviewed By rootin4putinnice grounds and large roooms - but zero investment or upkeep - broken light bulbs left on the floor etc, completely shabby - breakfast buffet with 50-100 tour groups was a bunfight. Unbelievable behaviours. This hotel only for students of decay. No concierge or any normal hotel services - there is a nightclub next door

Nice surprise
Reviewed By AurelianeWe were 4 friends visiting the city, we took 2 (twin) rooms and were nicely surprised. The room was very big and well furnished. Ideally located, 5 minutes by car from the railway, and 10 minutes walk from downtown! Friendly staff. Breakfast was quite spectacular, just about everything you could wish, hot or cold, but with a major lack at least for me: no coffee! I recommend the place strongly.

Good hotel, very helpfull staff
Reviewed By lad1122We had a very pleasent stay in this hotel. The rooms a modern, clean a roomy. The location is on the main road a bit outside the center of the city (15/20 min walk) which we actually found was very pleasent and more quiet. But what really stood out was the service we received. In the hotel lobby there is located a woman (her name is 'Wu Mei') who spoke English very well and helped us arrange our travels around Wuyuan. When we left for the trainstation she even arranged someone from the reception (woman, possibly a manager) to drive us in a private car (for free) when no taxies seemed available (it was early in the morning). I would definitely recommand this hotel.

Reviewed By bachelor8This hotel was newly remodeled with very comfortable room and delicious free breakfast. Close to bus station by walking 10 minutes. Close to a lot of supermarkets and restaurants. No pool but has a limited gym.

Perfectly Adequate, Good Location
Reviewed By Mike CKnowing Chinese helps a lot. Not much English from the staff. Rooms are clean, the fixtures not too old, the beds more comfortable than usual for Chinese hotels. The second floor Chinese restaurant is excellent.

However they moved us to the newer wing with Bath tubs and modern décor without additional charges. Its location was near the old town square where there are nightly dancing classes for the lady folks staying nearby; it was a pleasure to watch them dancing to the tempo of pop tunes.

Reviewed By Jaasminee_loL这家酒店虽然是位于婺源晓起景区，但因为实际位置在上晓起，所以即使在国庆假期，游客也特别少。可以选择高铁站打车直达，但是更推荐从晓起景区入口进入，这样顺着游览完晓起之后，穿过一条古道就可以到达酒店。 酒店是老房子改造，徽派建筑的特色一览无余，祠堂的牌匾现在还能看到。客房区域有三层，房间都是木质，外面看着古旧，内部的设施很齐全。顶楼还有一间书房，晚上村子里没什么活动，可以到书房打发时间。 酒店里边有偿提供晚餐，都是搭配好的，虽然味道比不上外面的餐厅但是胜在干净。用完餐，对门就是茶室，还经常能看到镇宅神兽小猫咪。就是房间比较少，要提早很久订。
