Another one of Towyn’s little diamond places. I read the superb reviews on here and we stopped for lunch. The hot meats of the day were pork and chicken. I had pork and my lad the chicken. Cooked to perfection and plentiful. Would definitely return. Might give one of the welsh pasties a go. They looked massive. Thank you for taking the time to give us a good review. Hope to see you again soon.

The Cliffs Bar & Restaurant sits on the hillside above Tan Rallt Holiday Home Park, North Wales. In 2014 we undertook major renovation works to create a modern, light social space where every single table would have a stunning view out across the valley t

We visited here recently with some friends, who were staying on the caravan park. We’d already seen online that the menu was very different to that when we last visited, so we weren’t expecting the same level and quality of food this time.As before, the restaurant is in a spectacular setting, the decor is very nice and, once again we were the only diners there that evening! That’s pretty much where the similarities ended. The menu is pretty much pub grub now. Supposedly home cooked, but I think in some cases it’s a slight exaggeration. Meant of the items on the menu were unavailable, due to a delivery not turning up. How many times have I heard that excuse over the years in various establishments? The choice was pretty limited, but we managed to find something that would suit us all. At least we expected it to suit us all. Some of the dishes weren’t of a particularly good quality, and of poor execution. I don’t think a “chef” had been anywhere near them!My pate starter was served with ordinary sliced white bread toast and the pate wasn’t terribly exciting, and looked as though it had been sliced from a large supermarket slab of pate. My chilli main course had a very unpleasant sweet taste. I couldn’t eat it. I declined a dessert. However, when the waitress brought the sweet board across, hardly anything was available anyway. We ordered coffees, but when the waitress brought them over they were all cold. It turned out that the “chef” had gone home and turned the power in the kitchen off! They were replaced with hot ones, and we weren’t charged for them. Overall it wasn’t an enjoyable evening. The poor waitress spent much of her time apologising for the shortfalls. She did her best, but sadly there was too much wrong, for us to consider returning.Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at The Cliffs. We are sorry that your meal on this particular evening did not meet your expectations. We assume that the current management was not in charge on your previous visit. The current operators have been in place since September 2017, and in agreement with the park owners, changed the menu to accommodate families and a move towards a more casual dining experience. Many of the items on our main menu are home-made, for example Lasagne, Curries, Chilli Con Carne, Soups and many of the desserts. We would not state on our menus that such items were home-made if they were not (Trading Standards). The day of your visit was immediately prior to the launch of our new menu for 2019, and as such we acknowledge that there were several items missing from the menu offered on the night. As a matter of good customer service, you should have been made aware of the missing items on the menu prior to ordering and the reasons why. The excuse of a failed delivery was not correct and may have been a matter of miscommunication between the chef and our waitress. The pate is one of our most popular starters and bought in pre-portioned from our supplier. It is usually accompanied by toasted baguette slices (another issue related to menu change). You should have been informed about this substitution. The chilli is made to our chef's own recipe but may not be to everybody's taste. It does not appear on our new menu, having been replaced by other new dishes. The new menu, which launched the following evening, featured six home-made and one bought-in dessert (gluten-free chocolate fudge cake), however we realise that these items were not available at the time of your visit. With regard to the coffee problem, our previous coffee machine warmed the cups before service. Our waitress (back for Easter break) had not used the new coffee machine and was unaware that the cups needed to be warmed using hot water before filling. Staff training has now taken care of this issue. In summary, your visit to the Cliffs on this occasion was a bit of a disaster! A combination of errors, the problems arising from a menu transition, and some gaps in staff training. However, if you would reconsider returning and trying The Cliffs again, we would be happy to see you and invite you to have a three course meal with a bottle of wine for four persons on the house. Please contact the restaurant manager on 01492 511633.Thanking you again for your input, we hope to see you soon.

The interior of this pub is beautiful and the lightning is perfect. The pub has a nice ambience and our party of three really appreciated the place. The staff looked very smart and professional and were courteous and very helpful even though they were clearly busy serving customers and taking orders. The food was good (my wife loved her cod) but I had an issue with my steak which was not cooked to the right order and tasted a bit odd. With great credit to the manager I was offered a replacement and when I said I would persevere with it (I ate half of it) the manager offered to remove the cost of the steak from the final bill. You can't get better service and hospitality than that. The desserts were great and overall, despite the steak, our experience was a positive one.

We visited while staying at Waenfechan glamping down the road for my partners birthday. We were greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful lady (unfortunately didn’t get her name) who got us our drinks and let us pick a table to sit at. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. We both tried the Snowdon larger which was very tasty. We were one of the first in because we arrived bang on 7, however more people started to arrive after us. The food was absolutely amazing, the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I had the liver pate starter and garlic mushroom pasta main and my partner had garlic bread for starter and the beef burger for main. You could tell the food was homemade with lots of love. We went on a Monday which meant we were able to have the special menu, (on Mondays and Tuesdays they have a 2 course for £10 or 3 course for £15 menu) and we were so so impressed, such good value for money and extremely yummy. The only disappointing thing was that I couldn’t fit a dessert in I was that full! Will have to save that for next time. The decor is 17th century style, old but cosy. It was nice to see a very traditional pub and added to the fabulous experience. If you’re looking for amazing food for a very good price this is the place for you. I really recommend visiting this place! Can’t wait to return

Called in here for lunch following a visit to the petting farm. Kerry the barmaid, was welcoming and spent time chatting to our 2 year old. Food is very much ‘pub grub’ with sandwiches, sharing platters, jackets, burger and pub classics. We opted for grilled steak and cheese sandwiches, prawn sandwich and a quinoa and beetroot burger - all hot and all went down well. The baby had the kids menu which was 6 chicken biggest chips and peas for u sees fiver.Food hot, plenty of it, clean tables. Couldn’t complain really!
