Iâve come to this place for years, because of its ambience and its beautiful views. I fully know that itâs overpriced and that the food is pretty ordinary, but tonight I could nog help feel that itâs a complete rip-off. I paid R180 for an ordinary portion of cob and a single small serving of veggies. The fish was dry and overcooked - I could not finish it. Nothing special or extra from the chef, not even the normal serving of fresh bread. Wine priced at R180 a bottle (the cheapest available), and desert at R65 for a choc pudding. The crème brûlée at R50 was above average I have to admit, but still... Will I be back? Perhaps for a glass of wine, definitely not for a main meal. Furious with myself that we tipped in spite of the really bad value for money. But then, the service was friendly. So what do you do? You write a review so that the chef and manager can take note and do their best to improve. Itâs a crime to waste such a beautiful setting.

Our first meal in Hermanus could not have been better. We wanted fresh beautiful seafood and we got it here overlooking the ocean. The Oysters were wonderful, the mussels succulent and the prawns really tasty not to mention the crunchy chips.Lovely friendly staff we could not have wished for a better way to spend our lunchtime.

Our visit was during a quiet hour. The staff was very attentive and informative and knew their menu and products well. The main reason for us visiting this franchise is the complimentary bread and three dips traditionally served at OB. We found that this had changed somewhat and discussed it with the owner. Whilst acknowledging that changing any item on a franchise menu is fairly restricted, we pointed out that the food had become a little too 'healthy' and this in our view, compromised flavour a little. The home made bread was excellent.More olive oil in the chopped chili and crushed garlic will do the trick to bring back the old 'oily' magic into which you can dip your bread. The same goes for the Cajun fried calamari we had as a main. A little bit on the dry side. Frying/blackening it in true Cajun style as opposed to just dusting it with a Cajun spice after frying, are miles apart on the taste-bud scale.Not bad we "cod do batter", Gaitse! ;)We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. CK's is a highly popular restaurant and takeaway serving delicious Chinese food and succulent sushi.It is tucked away in the Engen garage complex at the Hemel en Aarde junction in Hermanus/Sandbaai.Service is always fast, prompt and friendly. The dishes are well priced and a large portion of rice is included with most main dishes. Personal favourites squid in spicy sea salt and Singapore noodles.
