After a very long day of travel with many delays, we arrived in Xela without any idea where to eat. The host at our guesthouse suggested El Pasaje Mediterraneo as they had plant-based options on the menu and delicious cocktails. We had a wonderful meal here and were delighted by the vegan options. It's a great place and will definitely go back the next time we are in Xela.

Went here to refuel after a reasonably challenging climbing day on volcán Santa María. Great food here! They have great juices to try and their portions are plenty filling to this gringo:-). Their pepían is the best! The service is attentive. Had to laugh when getting ready to use the restroom. Make sure you notice the low bridge on the step up or you will feel that low bridge! I tried to move that bridge and let's just say I lost:-). When you go inside that room, you'll see the light hanging by the electrical wires. That don't work here in the U.S. That's the the life though in all the third world countries I've visited .

The food is great, they have a good variety of plates and a cozy place to hang out with friends or family. The prices are accessible, it´s definitely one of the better restaurants in town. If you don´t want to go to the busy tourist places, go here!! Same ambience and great food and drinks. We ordered a variety of plates and they were all delicious.
