Tre Fonti

Reviewed By Tanumz

Deserved number one spot in Asiago for this restaurant that will make you puzzled looking at it from the outside. Humble exteriors but once you walk through the door you just know it will be a great dining experience. Extraordinary customer care for a country like Italy where you might get treated like a nuisance in some places: here you are spoiled by the waiters who will take care of all your needs. The meats are cooked on a fireplace locaated at the back of the room (few seats, reserving is a must) and the cold meats are cut fresh in front of you. The dishes combine the local traditions with the experiment and presentation you expect in a top restaurant. Lovely desserts too. The bill comes at around 50€ per head including drinks and tip, we had starters (antipasti), main course, dessert, coffee and liquers (on the house). The only price I found a bit steep was the antipasti (21€ each), everything else I woud say it's correctly priced. Very good all around dining experience.

I have visited Locanda Aurora on a rainy Sunday and was fascinated by the warm atmosphere I have encountered here .It is an hive for the good food lovers. I have also learnt that the great Italian director Ermanno Olmi has been honoring this hive for a long decade. You feel the difference par excellence.Hakan BaturGrazie mille per la sua splendida recensione alla prossima sua visita in Italia saremo lieti di ospitarla nel nostro alveare

We ended at Rifugio Campolongo and stopped in to see what selection they had. This place was busy so we didn't know what kind of service we'd get. As we were waiting for our waitress we had very impatient couples on each side of us grumbling and griping about how long they'd waited. Of course I didn't understand a word of it, but my long-haired translator (my wife) filled me in on everything. So, I thought this might be another one of those lets sit down for 4 hours type of dinner I have had to endure while staying in Italy. However I was really surprised by both the speed of our service and the quality of the meal. While we waited, a basket of fresh home made bread was delivered. It was perfect. It had a chewy outside and a really soft inside. When we ordered my wife and I decided to split our meals. I got the maccheroni pasticciati (which was macaroni with a mix of red and white sauce with bits of pancetta (Italian bacon), prosciutto (ham), and ragu (meat sauce). It was absolutely delicious, and the perfect portion for 2 to split. And of course we used the bread to soak up the leftover sauce. Delicious! Then we both started in on my wife's order of grigliata di carne (grilled meat). It consisted of grilled sausage (some of the best I've had here in Italy), a pork chop, a small filet, a pork rib, accompanied by polenta. We both loved the selection and the taste was excellent. We also had a side of grilled potato's, a liter of house red wine, a liter of acqua natural (fresh water), and a caffé (espresso). All of this cost 28 Euro and it took only 45 minutes. The cost was great compared to what I am used to paying, and 45 minutes is like fast food here!I give this place a big fat thumbs up! NOTE:I can not confirm, but I believe this is an Italian only speaking establishment.
