Really good booking communication prior to arrival. Lovely personal welcome. Stunning separate little gardens. Great local Welsh gins served in a delightful room as pre-dinner drinks. Very comfortable dining area. Fab four course meal Italian & local Welsh influences, great menu choices, including vegetarian & vegan options, beautifully served and really well cooked - to your liking. Great depth of flavours. Wine available by the glass to compliment to food. Lovely relaxed, unstuffy atmosphere. If you are within a 50 mile radius YOU SHOULD DINE HERE! If you are further away, make an effort to see what you're missing. We didn't stay - because we were staying locally - but they do have rooms and a spa. Can you tell? We both loved it! Amanda should be paid more... Thank you for looking after us so well.Thank you for your very kind review! We are happy you enjoyed everything Môr restaurant has to offer. The team will be excited to read your comments! We're very happy you felt well looked after by our staff and particularly that you loved our food, we hope to welcome you both back again in the near future.

The Inglenook Seafood Restaurant

First night in Barmouth after holidaying here for years as a child. Stumbled upon the quaint restaurant near the harbour and fancied eating something healthier after plenty pub grub meals traveling around north Wales. Sorry team, your restaurant doesn't reach a particularly great standard! In a harbour town and a fish restaurant you expect fresh and the frozen just doesn't cut it. Reading the great sounding menu on the exterior enticed us in but it ended there. Staff do need training, seems like the kids helping out during school holidays. Sweet enough but again not for a restaurant. Interior could do with some focus but it's clean and tidy. Good enough place if you want a bite and don't expect too much. This was meant to be something special on our trip but it didn't manage to meet the mark.

Castle Cottage is the only restaurant at the top of the steepest street in the world!!. Guinness World Records award 6th June 2019 We have steadily built up a reputation for good food, both locally and with visitors to the area. We source and use as much

We’ve been visiting Castle Cottage for around fifteen years now for overnight and weekend stays, and for the award winning restaurant. Most recently we had dinner in the restaurant at the end of a holiday further along the coast near Porthmadog. In our view there isn’t really anywhere like Castle Cottage in the area. The evening started with drinks and canapés in the bar. Loved the local Welsh gin. Spoilt for choice with local produce on the menu from the sea (crab, lobster) and land (lamb, steak), and the deserts made by Glyn. Plenty of decent wine at good prices. Our only complaint is that time flies by too quickly at Castle Cottage. A few hours later and it was time to go ....Hi travellingfrogs! Wow, another top notch review, we are delighted that you love Castle cottage so much, and we are still managing to deliver after all these years. Always a pleasure to serve , can't wait until next time!

Bistro Bermo

We visit Barmouth for the walking festival each year. As it is our wedding anniversaries we usually celebrate with a nice meal. We were not disappointed with any of our 12 choices. I had salmon 3 ways for a starter with asparagus and truffle oil. The poached salmon was warm and it had a tasty sauce with it. The smoked salmon was excellent and the salmon caviar added another flavour and texture. My husband cleared his chicken parfait very quickly. My friend pronounced her mussel starter as wonderful and loved the sauce. Her husband agreed as he helped finish the sauce!! The restaurant served my friend the salmon starter without the truffle oil at her request. My mains rack of lamb was so tasty with a gravy sauce it just melted in my mouth. The chips looked quite pale but they didn’t need to be brown to be perfectly cooked and crispy!! We did not have room for dessert. We will be back next year to celebrate our wedding anniversaries!
