I never went there for the food, so I can't give a review about that, but it's a good place for non-brazilians to understand what "boteco" means. Tables on the sidewalks and a lot of people roaming about. Simple place to enjoy a cold beer with a group of friends.

It's a simple place with great food. On week days they have an executive menu, which consists of a plunge into different dishes and flavors without ripping you off. Two people have a very decent (and delicious) meal for R$ 55 ( US$ 25). It's a very good chance to treat yourself with delicious food 500 km away from the coast. I usually treat myself every other week. They take all major cc.

The first time I've ever eaten seafood was in Alguidares - and I couldn't stop since then. Food is always perfect and the service is flawless.I strongly recommend the "Muqueca de Camarão" (a typical Bahia dish with shrimps) - which is undescribable (the "half portion" is enough for me and my boyfriend). To drink, try the "Caipisurpresa".Alguidares is a MUST GO in Belo Horizonte - especially if you're an outsider.

In general, restaurants have a size limit above which the food served and the service rendered cannot be considered good. This is the case of Coco Bambu in Belo Horizonte, MG. The first and only time we went to this huge place, we had a tasteless prawn dish served by uninterested waiters led by bureaucratic maitres. The restaurant is located on the ground floor at the Ceasar Business Belvedere and I had the chance to try it while I was staying there for business purposes.I was really impressive with the service and great variety of option, of which the waiters are very well prepared to explain. I strongly recommend for either business or leasure. Great atmosphere!
