The Weavers is a great pub, old-fashioned and charming. If I ever go to Bodmin to meet family/friends I would always choose this pub over any other. Today as always the service was friendly but efficient, and the food as always was fantastic. We all decided to have the roast and they were spot on.If you want a good value pub that consistently serves high quality food in a relaxed and chilled environment then this place will fit the billGlad you enjoyed your visit again, and thankyou for taking the time to write a review. We look forward to seeing you again soon ;-)

We returned again this year to this delightful pub for a family dinner while on holiday. We always come back as the food and service is always wonderful, plentiful and has a good choice for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. They also serve all day right through which is great as we like to spend the morning and early afternoon doing whatever we've chosen for our day out and then eat here whenever we're done. Even though we were full from dinner we couldn't resist dessert, they had profiteroles!! Then my husband suggested a short walk down part of the Camel trail to walk it off which turned out to be a great deal of fun and it's so pretty. Needless to say we'll be back again next time we're in the area and it's highly likely our daughter and son in law will be back next May when they go away for their anniversary.Thank you very much for this review, We are delighted you enjoyed your time with us whilst you was on holiday. We do hope to see you back again very soon!

A group of 17 of us had Sunday lunch there. The service was friendly and efficient, although the food had started to cool when it came. As we were a big group, it did seem the vegetable portions were low. We pre-ordered meals, mostly roasts, and also had coffee and desert. We all enjoyed our meals and liked the corner where they were able to seat us all on one table. There were also fine with us paying individually and staying for a while chatting after the meal.

The ploughman’s was MASSIVE and would keep the largest of farmhands full all afternoon. The barman wasn’t fazed when I asked for a cream tea for my lunch. Fab scones, would have preferred fish jam rather than individual plastic pots. But, that being said, would come back here as the service was fab, staff very friendly and a lovely homely bar with lots of atmosphere.

Our first night in Cornwall and this pub was across the street from our hotel. It was just what we were looking for. A Saturday night so the fireside bar area was hopping - would have been nice to be able to spend more time there. But we wanted to eat, so barman got the chef to come downstairs (!) and talk to us. We went up to eat and had excellent and unusual tapas and a nice chat with the chef.

Have been coming here since it opened. The food is still of an excellent standard but if I’m honest, the menu hasn’t really changed in all the years we’ve been coming here. Fish and chips, mussels, beetroot salad, steak and chips, a fish dish etc - they’ve been on the menu all this time. It’s all cooked to an excellent standard but the owner is playing it safe and this time around, there was only really one main course that we fancied. In the past, it’s been difficult to choose between 2 or 3. Prices have inevitably risen as before the value was almost too good to be true. Wine is of an average standard and no longer offers value. There’s a couple of the owner’s Bordeaux reds on the menu at £38 which are way overpriced for what they are IMO. There’s a Douro red at £31 that knocks the spots off the Bordeaux. Coppa, pakora, fillet steak and deserts were all excellent and couldn’t be faulted. Service this time wasn’t as good as we’ve had in the past. The waitress insisted on describing each dish in full while we were drinking our aperitif, despite us being fully aware of what the dishes were. There were a couple of gents serving that evening who were much more in keeping with the service I would expect. Sounds like an odd review from me as I can’t fault the food which is executed to perfection so maybe I should should happier? But I guess I’m beginning to feel the other touches like consistent service, general friendliness, (the owner is regularly onsite but rarely engages with her customers - in contrast to her social media persona), price vs quality of wine, and a more varied menu are missing, and don’t match up the food quality. Dear Goatmasterfunk,Thank you for taking the time to leave your valued, however as you stated somewhat odd feedback. First I'm glad you appreciate the quality of our food, but I must disagree with your statement of 'the menu never changes' we change the menu on a daily and seasonal basis, since the start of summer we've had a complete change of chefs in the kitchen who along with Emily have brought their own dishes onto our menu which have never featured before. Yes, there may be dishes featuring similar ingredients that re-appear but that is due to us using ingredients that we love. The fact that you believe our wine list to be of an average standard shows you are lacking in some wine knowledge, we have put together an extremely well thought out list that features something for everyone, I myself am a huge wine lover and have worked within the wine industry, we also work with Liberty Wines to put our menu together, and they are one of the most renowned fine wine suppliers in the country. The team here never insist on talking through our menu, it's something we love to do to give customers our experience as well as explaining to guests where produce comes from and how it's prepared. We were unaware that you knew our entire menu and new dishes inside and out. The owner Emily is in the kitchen full time cooking as well as running the business, so I'm sure you can understand that after a long busy day she may want to take some time to herself to unwind, she always says hello to guests but is not someone to wander around the restaurant showboating whilst guests are enjoying themselves. To finish I find your review rather hurtful, personally upsetting and quite unnecessary. If you would like to discuss anything further with me please feel free to call.Regards,LiamRestaurant Manager

Came for a meal for a special birthday. Didn't know what to expect really but it is top heavy with fish. As one of us is not a fish lover, the menu was somewhat limited. What was left was just one meat dish and a vegetarian option. The weather was horrendous so what would have been nice would be something wholesome - maybe bangers and mash or a pie but neither were available. We padded it out with a starter and dessert but sadly at extra cost. Given we had to drive were unable to drink but given the price of a pint I was glad I didn't.Overall, I am not complaining what I had however instead of making it look pretty, put it on a plate, with a ladder up the side and then we eat it. Basically good wholesome food instead of lardy da pretty stuff. Will try again - maybe for Sunday lunch in the hope there is more than a roast on the menu when we go next time.

The menu looks amazing online and won’t disappoint. We visited for dinner and had a real selection - from the curry, to lasagne, to chicken burger, to beef Wellington. Every dish was excellent, and the starters and puddings too. Felt like they really aim for top quality food and ingredients, and definitely hit the mark. Highly recommended if you’re looking for top quality food in the area.
