There is not much to say about this pizza place....it was simply the best pizza we had in Italy:) The stuff is very friendly and the ingredients are of very good quality. They just have two tables but this is ok since it is more a take away pizza place. We went there a couple of times after kite surfing. Thanks for the review to our pizzeria, we hope to see you again as soon as possible ....

This restaurant is a bit outside the center of Marsala. We happened upon it one night when we were lost trying to find another restaurant. The food was delicious. There';s a wonderful seafood counter, where you can pick your own fish and the Pasta Norma w

We arrived in Sicily yesterday, staying at the New Palace Marsala, and after unpacking went on a walk to discover our surroundings. Eventually around 5 we found this little restaurant, closed at the time, but a promising menu, and decided to return later. So we returned at 7.45 ish to find we were the only ones there apart from the staff eating dinner, we soon found our why, Italians don't start eating until 9.00 however in our defence we had been up since 2 am.The staff were so friendly and there was the most amazing buffet a selection of fish dishes a choice of 7, then a selection of vegetables caponata, aubergine, courgette they looked amazing and I'll try them next time. We shared a salad of green leaves, corn, tuna and cheese. So glad we ordered one to share it was huge and a meal in itself. Next we had Pizza, this was delicious but huge a 1/4 would have been enough but fabulous, aubergine, onion a spicy ham Wow! next time it's a 'piccillo' {a baby} for me.The decor was lovely it reminded me of an old house or barn, some evidence of rocks pushing through the walls with lots of artists cracks. Definatlt the place to eat. Go and enjoy.. actally I was quite jealous all the locals were greeted with kisses and hugs..

I rarely ever give a five tar rating, but when a place deserved it from many point of views, they I do exceptions. We were sent here by a restaurant which we dined at during lunch, having a heavy lunch, we asked him to suggest us a good pizzeria for dinner.C'era una volta is the typical pizzeria of the sicilian villages, simple decor, not so many money spent on comfortability, however genuine food at a a very genuine price. Even for soft drinks, one can have a large bottle to share, wines are very reasonably priced and selection isn't bad too when coming to Sicilian wines. We had a good bottle or red wine and all opted for pizza. Pizza menu offers a good selection and makes it hard to choose, but whatever we had, it came in a genuine size with genuine ingredients, quality of the pizza very good. This place is the typical village eatery that if not from the place, you need to step in and eat, it is here the local places eat. Whoever is behind this place, is doing an excellent job, just what you expect, no frills and no high bills, just genuine good food at a casual atmospere.

We were driving from Marsala to Trapani and stopped by chance around 2:00 pm, on a Sunday, which is usually a time for kitchen closure in Italian restaurants, and got inside hoping to get some food. For our surprise, we found a warm attention, and a great dish of typical sicilian style seafood preparation with local homestyle made pasta and Trapani style Pesto sauce, with shells and big shrimps. With 2 cold beers Nastro Azzurro, sparkling water and cappuccino coffee after, we were really satisfied, and de only paid 35 euros in total. We higly recommend it! Try also the seafood couscous if available!

Set back looking at one of the best views in the Mediterranean, this restaurant is in a prime location for people visiting Mozia and the saline. You drive up a lovely lit drive , plenty of parking, and there is quite a large covers veranda with wind proof sides covering plenty of tables. The speciality of this place is a selection of locally named pizza made with a special type of local flour. There was plenty of regular type pizza of the usual variety but I wanted to try a specialist. We had a large bowl of French fries with panella to share amongst all of us which was just lush anyway and I nice cold beer and wine was taken with the meal. Then came the pizza. Thankfully wasn't enormous otherwise we would have embarrassed ourselves by taking most of it home. I had a Stagnone, which was the local flour base, local tomato sauce, a special local type of mozzarella and a nice salami to top it off. The base itself looked almost wholemeal but it tasted simply divine cooked in a wood burning oven as they have to be. Flavours were great and I ate it all with much enjoyment. My wife ate the same, and there was one with tuna, and another with a different type of cheese on the table and everyone was in agreement spectacular.Staff were attentive and pleasant and prices were bit high compared locally but worth every penny.Great venue, great food, now my local (when in Sicily) pizza restaurant of choice. Well done all

I make a list of the reasons why you should go there:1. Wide menu, fish specialities such as octupus, tuna and squid are delicious.2. Great waiters, they gave us the insects repellent, they explained us the different processes of wine making and they were extremely kind , they also gave us a free passito wine tasting.3. They were super careful about my gluten intolerance: they appositively cook in a separate pan the panelle to avoid any contamination.Great, thanks !

We visited Cothon for dinner our first night in Marsala because we were staying outside the city and this restaurant was close to our accommodation and had easy parking in front -- we came back the second and last night because we had a wonderful experience here! The food is lovely, fresh, well-served, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very cheerful -- a mix of people eating dinner with colleagues after work, and the occasion al birthday party. Restaurant very clearly has a strong local client base.Fish couscous is the best I've eaten my two weeks in Sicily, and the fresh fish grilled with salad is also excellent.

For anyone wanting a quick bite this cafe in central Marsala is recommended. Located in a shaded piazza through an archway half-way up the Main Street it was quite convenient. Nothing elaborate but good snacks for a quick bite. We had tuna panini, which were very substantial and tasty. Our friends had prosciutto and mozzarella flat wrap, which again they thoroughly enjoyed. Cheap and cheerful but quite good.
