The chef here is doing a fantastic job, and the dishes we ate were all superb. We went on a holiday & the one waiter in the place was utterly overwhelmed. Our dishes all came out at the wrong time & the panigacci were cold by the time I could get to them - this second course came about 2 minutes after I received my primo. I won't belabor the disaster of the service because I think it was an off night owing to a decent crowd being served by only one person. On a positive note, they served a creative pasta w/ fava beans, the porchetta was fantastic, and the traditional testaroli and panigacci were superb. The place has excellent food. The only thing that disappointed was the weak wine list and subpar house wine. Still, based on the food alone & the chef's efforts, this place merits an A grade.

This charming restaurant off the main Street in LA Spezia was a lucky find. My wife and I are traveling throughout Northern Italy on honeymoon. We've been to Milan, Venice, and Bologna before arriving in LA Spezia. Italy has many historical and beautiful Churches, Basilica's, architecture and coastlines. For us what's most important is the food! Before eating at Bartali, our best meal so far was at Trattoria Oberdan de Mario in Bologna. After waiting about 20 minutes to be seated around 10pm we we're treated to the best meal we've ever had. We ordered the Mixed Seafood appetizer to start. Superb. Next was the grilled octopus, a hearty portion of tentacles that were crispy at the surface them oh so tender throughout. A must have. Followed the octopus with a calamari pasta, perfectly cooked pasta in tomatoes sauce with rings of tender squid. Perfect again. We also had the stuffed mussels, seafood spaghetti, and the ovened fish. Everything was beyond delicious. A seafood culinary tour of the highest quality. We ate all of this with two bottles of wine all for only $136 Euros including two desserts.I'd travel the 15 hours to Italy by airplane just to eat here again. My compliments to the exceptionally skilled chefs at this Osteria. Try it, you will not regret it.

Lovely restaurant with nice, relaxed ambience and welcoming staff.Very good starters of Cappon Magro (a traditional fish and vegetable dish), and mezze maniche pasta with monte cimone parmesan cream, bacon and soft egg. My duck with caramelized oranges was also very good but the roast pork was uninteresting.

We have been in Italy for the, last 3 weeks and were debating if tonight’s meal at Giardini Dei Glicini was our favourite. It definitely was a highlight for all of us. Not only were the dishes very tasty, but the presentation of the plates was very beautiful. The family treated us like gold as they seem to with all their visitors based on the various reviews. This restaurant may not be in the tourist part of the city, but we would highly recommend doing whatever you can to make it to their place. The seafood is so tasty and the prices are incredibly reasonable. We wish we could come again but our short time here won’t allow it.

How fortunate we were to find this popular restaurant for one of our first dinners in La Spezia. Their service was excellent, their food was delicious and their staff professional. Staff were knowledgeable about the variety/regions of wines. The tables were beautifully set with white tablecloths and linen napkins. With an overhead projector showing revolving scenic pictures of Cinque Terre, La Spezia and other surrounding towns, we were encaptured by both this beautiful region and this stylish restaurant. Ristorante Roma is a treat to give yourself!

The pizza's are all great (we tried a few), and also the local dishes like fried anchovis and farinata (chickpea pancakes) I can recommend. Friendly staff. Not very expensive.
