This is a hidden gem in Potenza, where you would not expect to be served the most amazing seafood you could possibly dream of. Il Re Gallo is a classic Italian seafood restaurant, with a touch of inspired innovation. It's decor is modern but traditional, and the focus is on the quality and freshness of food. I was thoroughly satisfied by the quality of the service (Salvatore, the owner, is very knowledgeable and charming) and the delicious simplicity of the food (tonno in crosta di zucchine is a must have!). All things considered, this was definitely one of the best meals I have ever had.

This place was recommended to me by the owner of Hops bar up on the main drag (great selection of craft beers btw).The food was excellent. Fortunately for me they had vegetarian options. I had a potato salad, fava and chicory (I think) and an aubergine and tomato dish. All typical of the region.The service was very friendly and second-to-none. I chatted to the brothers who own and run the business. They've both lived abroad but have chosen to come back to this great part of Italy in the south.Thank you soo much for you review! Fish is your best bet especially every Weds and Fridays. The interior decoration makes the rest. The waiters are very helpful. You are sure to have the best and a fresh fish-meal in a city at 800mt above sea level.

We spent a comfortable evening at Hame restaurant. They have adapted to our food allergies by showing us the excellent and varied menu. This is certainly the best restaurant in Potenza.

I would come back to this restaurant each time i visit potenza for the Truffle. Beside of the great food, the services and furniture are decent too. Truly a worthy experience.

We went to this restaurant twice when we were staying in Potenza. It is good food at a good price. The house wine was very good value for money and the host was really helpful. I would recommend this restaurant if you would like a delicious home cooked Italian meal.

When we pulled up in front of the restaurant, my husband expressed doubt about the setting. But the inside is a warm and welcoming atmosphere. And when we saw the courses being delivered to other guests, we regretted that we had eaten a big breakfast and couldn't manage a secondi and dessert. Great food, great value. We made an unplanned stop enroute between Matera and Rome. This place is worth a special return trip.

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and are so glad we went. Itâs a bit out of the way and we wondered if we were heading to the right place! We had pastas, lamb and beef and were all completely happy with our choices. The food was delicious, the wine perfect and the owner / waiter is very nice. Do go if you are in or driving through Portenza.

Well we didn't eat there.We wanted to eat there.We had a delicious lunch in the afternoon and wanted to eat a small pizza in the evening.I found this pizzeria on Tripadviser.And this, to us, my wife and I, seemed nice.We were warmly welcomed to the table.We got the menu.Then a young hystrical woman came and asked if we had made a reservation.What we didn't have.We were then were asked to leave to place. Of the 10 tables, two were occupied!! Quite embarrassing.To be sent away from a restaurant.
