Very good Italian style coffee. We had a Panini with ham, haloumi and chutney. Very good. Chai late and hot chocolate also great. Good atmosphere as this is the place locals go for real coffee!

Booked a table for four adults Saturday Evening. On entering the premises we were greeted with a massive smile from whom I think was the proprietor, her whole approach was one of friendliness. The other three people in the party knew exactly what they wanted to drink, but I was undecided, finally I chose one of the speciality gins, and the lovely lady took her time to explain what variety it was. The drink came in a lovely glass, with only a small amount of tonic poured in for me and then the rest of the bottle handed to me personally, not left on the bar for me to pick up. We were then shown to our table and handed the menu. We ordered a sharing board for three for starters, and oh my goodness it was amazing. There were three meats, large chunk of cheese, bread, olives, salad, chutney, tomatoes....plenty for four. One of the group ordered the lamb, and we were advised we would be waiting approx 30 mins, we were happy with this as it gave us time to soak up the atmosphere, and have a good talk, and also gave time for the starter to be digested. When the main course arrived, again it looked superb. The presentation was excellent. The ladies were served first, which again was a polite gesture. All four of us were totally satisfied with what had been placed in front of us. The food was delicious, could not be faulted at all. The wine ( merlot) was also very good, and fair in price. We decided that we were all full so declined the sweets on offer, which again sounded scrummy. We decided to retreat to the lounge area for coffee and brandy, again we felt very much at home and welcome as this area is so comfy. The bar area is frequented by the regulars which you expect to find in a village community, and it was great to see everyone mixing in. The two men in our party also eyed up the pool table, a good job that it was in use or I think we may have been there for longer than we were. The evening went very quick, and it was soon 11.15 so thought we had better book a taxi. We said our goodbyes to the staff and thanked them for the experience. The meals are well priced for the quality, content, and presentation.Would we return, YES WITHOUT A DOUBT. I shall certainly be recommending to friends and family.I would also use the Admiral Nelson to take visiting friends for a drink on a Saturday night, as the atmosphere and ambience and surroundings are wonderful. Thanks to all who made our evening ( which was also our wedding anniversary) a lovely night out.Thank you so much for your review, it is very much appreciated. We are delighted that you enjoyed your evening with us, we are a very small family run team who do out very best to produce great tasting fresh food. I always say we are not chefs but mums that cook! We look forward to seeing you again soon.Kind reagards, Karen and team
