A friend referred us to this small establishment that makes amazing pizza. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the price is very reasonable.Letrusco is open only in the evenings, and No alcohol is served in the restaurant.

We were in transition from Panama City, through to Azuero Peninsula. Stopped in at La Gioia di Napoli and we were SO amazed at the quality of food this family is preparing. Simply fantastic! authentic Italian, home made by the owner who speaks half-Italian half-Spanish. The sons are workign there as well: making fresh pizza dough and baking in their pizza oven. The lasagna is a MUST (best lasagna we've tasted, EVER), and the pizzas are fresh, sauce is to die for. Highly recommended. We took photos of the food too but no place to post them here (?).

because you are out of town and you dont want to drive at night, you are trapped. The food is EXPENSIVE, even for north america. Breakfast included is crap and one extra coffee they charge..

Shortly after leaving Santiago to Panama this restaurant is on the Interamericana highway with a large sign to show the location. I stopped on Halloween evening and was the only person in the restaurant. Several people were outdoors but I wanted to eat with the a/c room. The menu is typical Panamanian fare. The bar has a huge selection of liquors and wines. May dinner with a beer was a little over ten dollars. My friend suggested the filet or prime rib but I could not find them on the menu. I asked the waitress after my dinner and she said the filet cordon bleu was the filet carne. Oh well!, next time I will try this.

My husband has family in Santiago so everytime we travel to Panama we spend a lot of time there. Over the past decade I have seen Santiago evolve from basically a pit stop on the way to Chiriqui to a destination in its own right. It still has some way to go, but there are now lodging options that make an extended stay very comfortable. Dining options also keep getting better and more diversified. We spent six days and five nights in Santiago exploring the surrounding area. We spent a whole day at the pool at Hotel Mykonos will family members. We also checked out Santa Fe, the beaches of Herrera - Mariato, Torio, and Morillo. Spent a day at the volcano at La Yeguada. Our final day we spent enjoying the new resort pool at Cubita in La Arena near Chitre, a little bit of shopping in downtown Chitre, and the opening festivities of El Manito de Ocu. Our first night in Santiago we went downtown to the park square and discovered a little carnival in full swing. Our kids had a blast.
