The litte pool with beds, umbrellas and tables was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view. If you are going to Taboga this is the best place to stay!

Very comfortable
Reviewed By Kevin SA small bed and breakfast, four rooms and a pleasant small pool. The room was good, large, equipped with a TV we didn't try, a/c, fridge, safe, kettle with coffee, no tea, comfortable bed and clean. An unusual aspect was no invitation to park the car inside their gate, it was left on the dirt road outside. But it is a quiet residential area so seemed perfectly safe. Just 2km to the beach, an easy drive with parking at the beach daytime or for the restaurants in the evening. Breakfast was included and was very good being a well presented choice of eggs, toasted bread and croissants, jams, a large fruit choice, fruit juice and a plentiful supply of tea or coffee.

From our private balcony, we were able to watch all the boats waiting on the canal from the comfort of a hammock. Both owners of the property were super friendly, and fun to talk with. The rooms were very clean and well maintained which shows that they care deeply about their property. Being a small town it was easy to get around by walking and the locals living there were always friendly. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and also checking out the restaurant they own closer to the beach.

Relaxing at Monkey Lodge and tour on the lake
Reviewed By 311ClaudeLI enjoyed a four nights stay with Fabrice, Sabrina, and their son Max. Max is now managing the lodge and keep everything running smoothly. Fabrice and Sabrina built a beautiful tropical garden and four lovely bungalows; nowadays, they look after their guests' comfort. I took one of the more secluded houses, set among trees and bushes, at the end of a small path; I felt at home. They are many birds and butterflies to observe. A few hammocks under the trees are waiting for you; a swimming pool is here to enjoy. The property is quite big and pleasant to walk around, also very secure as it is entirely walled. I enjoyed the bar; Max makes excellent drinks, for me, no alcohol. Good breakfast; Sabrina cooks delicious meals, always fresh. One evening Max invited two musicians, transverse flute and Saxophone; I enjoyed the concert. My Lake Gatun's excursion was a highlight; I could feel Max's passion and love for the place. In the end, we stopped for a swim in a tunnel formed by trees over a canal. As it is pretty near the city, the Monkey Lodge is an excellent place to relax after a long flight to Panama before exploring the country. Visiting Casco Viejo, Miraflores lock, and other points of interest by taxi is easy, and you will get tons of tips and ideas from Max, Fabrice, and Sabrina.

Reviewed By DgtlXrayVery nice, low cost and close to Canal Zone for viewing. Nice local restaurants for local cuisine. We ate at local establishments for lunch and dinner. Hotel staff was very helpful. You can watch Toucans in trees while eating your breakfast!

Stay includes a full breakfast, infinity pool, jaccuzzi. Due to our semi remote location lunch and dinners and full bar is available on site. Property not suitable for children, the elderly and pets. Our location is a hikers paradise. There are several famous hiking trails including Cerro Picacho,La Laguna (8 minute drive to trail head) and the India Dormida, El Valle (25 minute drive to trail head) as well as several trails to the river from the property.

Not only was it a beautiful property, but the hosts were lovely, the room was clean and comfortable, the nearby walk to the river was awesome, and Randy’s pizza was an added bonus! We would definitely return :)

A fun little place
Reviewed By kinoxlThe amador was built with tailings from the Panama canal and there's a lot of fun, local spots all within walking distance of this hotel. The location is probably the best part of this hotel. You can see the skyline of the city without all the hustle and bustle. Next door is Punta culebra where you can see wild sloths and some basic aquatic exhibits. There's also a park, go karts and plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms are basic with no issues, but the views from the room are great. The pool is small, but is perfect for kids. The beach is neat, because the tide drops the water about 100' twice a day. Only downside is that the wifi is pretty spotty and each room has their own code so you can use wifi outside of your room.

Reviewed By Rich PRoom was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good but you had no choice. It was what they served that day but was adequate. The staff was friendly and very helpful with questions. I recommend it as a good hotel at a fair price.

Huge disappointment
Reviewed By Masha_Z82Very disappointed about my stay at Gerald’s. First of all, the place does not feel proper. There’s rubbish in the middle of the yard that you observe every day. The beds are ok. The bathroom is stained all over, it doesn’t feel clean at all The safe that was in the room didn’t have a key, and even if it did, it would be useless as it can be easily taken out because it’s not attached to the wall. The electricity got cut off the 31st of december. Though having a generator, the owner waited for almost an hour to turn it on. I barely managed to finish the shower as the water does not often work without electricity. And I had to prepare myself for the New Years celebration in dark, while they were waiting to turn on the generator. The next 2 days the rooms were most of the time without electricity and water, though there is generator at the property. But they turned it on only for the restaurant, and most of the time kept is shut off. When I complained about the fact, they told me that when they finish in the restaurant I’d get the electricity. So they used generator to serve food to people, a lot of them from outside of the hotel, and make their money, while the clients who already paid for the room suffered without electricity and at times without being able to shower too. They would chose to make more money over their clients’ comfort.
