Reviews on Italian food in Cirencester, England, United Kingdom. Cirencester (/ˈsaɪrənsɛstər/ ( listen), occasionally /ˈsɪstər/ ( listen); see below for more variations) is a market town in east Gloucestershire, England, 93 miles (150 km) west northwest of London. Cirencester lies on the River Churn, a tributary of the River Thames, and is the largest town in the Cotswold District. It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world, founded in 1840. The town's Corinium Museum is well known for its extensive Roman collection. The Roman name for the town was Corinium, which is thought to have been associated with the ancient British tribe of the Dobunni, having the same root word as the River Churn. The earliest known reference to the town was by Ptolemy in AD 150.

Nice Local Family Run Restaurant Serving Good Value Food In A Friendly Atmosphere. Traditional Italian.
Yesterday was my first visit, it won't be my last! What a hidden gem ! If you want the best tasting food just like how your imaginary Italian grandma would make, look no further. The chef is brilliant! Every dish we ordered was perfect! Elena was our waitress and was so welcoming to us, particularly to my mum, who'd had an operation the day before. She also kept the restaurant open past their usual hours so we didn't have to rush our meal. I'm so grateful places like this exist! We're already planning our return. Just be aware, the toilets are upstairs so if you can't do stairs plan ahead.

We went on a Friday evening without booking, there were busy but there were some spare tables, we were given a larger table due to having a baby stroller. The service was friendly from start to end; however, as they only had two people working in the kitchen, it took a long time to starters and even longer for mains. We were in the restaurant for about 2 hours and this was without ordering dessert, we did intended to order dessert; as they took so long and our son woke towards the end we decided not to order dessert. The staff were over-worked due to the number of customers and lack of staff, even the manager looked over-worked; I had a discount code and the manager needed to discount to apply the discount but gave a receipt for a different table (the table next to us that had already paid and left), which was cheaper than our order. When I staff member brought the card machine to make the payment, we made them aware and we then given a new receipt. All the food was nice (starters and pizzas) and we were given spare plates and cutlery as well; the service was friendly but due to the number of customers was very slow. We decided not to visit again during our stay due to the service time.
