I love the Ask chain and enjoy eating in their restaurants and this is no exception. Good food,Great service and a very lively( if somewhat noisy in the conservatory area) atmosphere. Ask to be seated in the main building if you are not keen on the noisy environment. A great place to spend a very pleasant evening.

We took my Mum to the Kings Head for lunch as our son was over visiting from abroad. We hadn't booked but arrived around 12:30pm and luckily there was availability for a table. The staff were all very friendly, there was a specials menu and the normal everyday menu with a good choice of food. Three of us had the soup and one had the scotch egg for starters, then we chose the gnocchi, chicken caesar salad and fish and chips for our mains. The food was absolutely delicious, couldn't fault it at all. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and what with the excellent service and good food we spent a very nice couple of hours in there. The restaurant started to fill up and was fairly busy for a Wednesday lunchtime, which shows it is popular. New since late last year - replaced where Kamble the Chinese takeaway was.Italian basically - relaxed atmosphere with a sort of rustic interior. Good choices of cold platters and some choices of warm old late in the week and at weekends.Nice wine choices - good helpful service.No fancy proces - so it's avery good place to go inner view.Only issue is parking but then that's true anywhere along Billericay High St haha

1 of my sons booked a table for 8 people yesterday, Mother’s Day, for 6.45. Four of our party arrived at 6.40 & were told there would be a 15 minute delay & offered a complimentary drink. The rest of arrived at 6.45. There was a queue of people at the bar area & the whole restaurant was packed. At 7 o’clock, 1 of our party asked a member of staff if the 4 of us who had not been offered a drink could now have 1. We were then sat down at 7.15. We were given menus & just 1 special ‘Mothers Day’ menu which listed offers of 2 or 3 courses plus a glass of Prosecco. We had to ask for further copies of this menu, which seemed odd considering the day? The 7 adults proceeded to order from the specials & the child in our party chose from the standard menu. The wait for starters & further drinks was very, very long (& 1drink arrived with a bottle top sitting among the ice cubes....quite dangerous as well as unpleasant to see) Once we had eaten the starters we asked when the Prosecco would be served. It eventually arrived. Mains also eventually arrived.A few of us had ordered the chicken breast in marsala sauce. The chicken arrived covered with mushrooms but no sauce. Though we had originally decided on the 3 courses offer, we had by then become so disappointed with the food & service that we asked for the bill. The time on the bill was 21.39. That is 3 hours for 2 courses. We had mentioned during the evening that we were waiting far too long for service. I visited Prezzo earlier today to speak to someone to ask what had gone wrong. I was told that at around 7pm last night it had become very busy & food was delayed. But I was given no reason why?Hi, we offer our sincere apologies for the service and food received during your dining experience with us. It’s unacceptable to dine with us and have this level of service and food in any of our restaurants. We know we can do better and hope that you will allow us an opportunity to prove this. A chain restaurant but serving a good variety of food. Not fine dining but good variety of Italian food mainly pizza and pastas. The servers were friendly and good but service was slow either because of kitchen problems or because there didn’t seem enough servers to handle the number of customers.

Have been thinking of going here for quite a while, and finally, on the spur of the moment, decided to just do it. Rang and booked a table, and had no problems doing so. Found a car space, and were welcomed very nicely and shown to our table. The decor is very light, open and welcoming, yet also somewhat private. The menu is extensive, and caters for many tastes. The service was impeccable, being unobtrusive, and yet very attentive and helpful at the same time. Nothing was overlooked to ensure you have a wonderful dining experience. We ordered, and the food arrived within a short time, and it was all very nicely cooked and, be warned, quite large portions!! Each dish was very tasty, and my daughter loved the pizza and cheese garlic bread. Price-wise, it is not too extravagant, and well worth the price, as the food is excellent. Now we have been, we are very tempted to return, and may well do so, as it is definitely worth a return visit, Service, atmosphere, price, ambiance, and very nice food are all magnets drawing us back to do it again. Highly recommended.

Having many times driven past this former Pub, which then became an Indian and then back to a pub and now a Pub/Italian, I decided to take my partner there on a Thursday evening to sample the 2 for 1 menu. We were shown to the back room, which to be honest is nicely set out, that is the only good thing I can find to say. I had Calamari to start, there were 5 small pieces, all were cold. My partner had mussels, which, although not stated on the menu, were swimming in tomato sauce, she left them. I then had the beef lasagne, which was OK, my partner ordered carbonara, she ate 25% of it, the rest was sunk below a full bowl of cream, she left it. The staff did offer to change it for something else but by then the damage had been done. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" on this occasion we got less than our monies worth. We apologise that you felt it was not enough for you, we will look at the dish when it is served and thanks for bringing it to our attention. We have not had any other complaints about the size of this dish. We had a lovely experience at La Toscana with a group of friends in April and just the wife and I went back again last week for a quiet/quick lunch.Totally enjoyable - great atmosphere, and very tasty and enjoyable food. Attractive menu choices both the set menu and a la carte.One of the best restaurants in and around ~ Billericay in our view.
