This review is for both the restaurant and the restaurant; we stayed here for 3 nights and did half board. Each meal was amazing. Delicious, homemade and local. We especially loved the gnocci (we had several types during our stay... each one excellent) and the delicious meats. Service was very kind. The views from this location are world-class! The room had the most spectacular view of the mountains and village. It was modern, yet had a farmhouse feel. The bathroom was nice. The bed was very comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay and our meals at Botond'oro. It is quite difficult to find, but worth the trouble, and the owners were very kind and helpful in guiding us there.

Our party of 3 arrived at 6pm and were told they didn't start serving food until 7. We sat in one of the booths out front and drank cokes, watching a group of 8 or so retired men playing cards. They were quite a sight, and it was poetry listening to their Italian banter. It was a good way to kill an hour, at which point we traveled inside and were seated immediately. We ordered pizzas and were very satisfied, and decently prices. Recommend and would go back.

This little lakeside restaurant and pension looks like it would be cropped from a fairy book. Nice view over the lake, good and fast service, friendly staff speaking many languages. You can stop for a bit or lasagna and sit outside enjoying the view.

I ate there only muschrooms with polenta and drunk wine, so I dont know about other meals. I would say that taste isn`t that good as you expect, but the atmosphere is very nice, and this is a quite great place to go in a late evening and drink some wine or beer with your friend.

We found this place via TripAdvisor, great reviews, hundreds of reviews -a bit suspicious to be straight. We placed a reservation for Thursday night - no problem!Been there at 19h30 -the first guests that night. It filled up later. The place is very authentic, an the folks in the kitchen had lots of fun and are good singers The food is simple, tasty, local, authentic, a lot and a bit heavy. If you are looking for a gourmet setting - go elsewhere. If you like to go for the simple way of live and dial into local life happening in a harsh alpine environment- enjoy!

We took a snowmobile up and a sled down to arrive at Malga for lunch. We had made a reservation in advance.The restaurant really is lovely; interesting menu with a nice range of options; decent service and a lovey interior. The food was delicious - with some unusual pastas and some great lamb chops. Highly recommended and makes for a great outing from Cortina. Thanks so much for your quotation, we really appreciate this.

I love this place. I generally love places offering their own food but in Bombassei you reach a quality level that nowadays, it is quite difficult to meet. Anything you can eat there is super genuine and the family that runs the business put all the possible love in what they do.

Even though we didn't follow our own directions up there in the title of our review, I must say we had an overall great experience at Ai Lares. Our server, Luigi, was extremely friendly and patient with his silly American guests who fumbled through the menu with their little Italian knowledge. In the end we had Luigi pick our food for us. The pasta was the highlight of our meal. It was a thing flat noodles with spicy sausage and sauce. I would definitely recommend it. I had speck and asparagus for my main ( I can't eat dairy and my options definitely were limited here ) and my husband had pork loin with cheese and mushrooms with polenta. He thought it was just okay. The house wine, while organic (which I appreciated), was just okay as well. The room was cozy with the wood stove going. I would say Luigi was what made our time here memorable. His interactions with us were so kind and warm and he made us feel so welcome. PS if you like grappa--do yourself a favor and buy some there. My husband got a little bottle and it was his favorite he's ever had!

We really enjoyed our stop here! The family was very welcoming and the food was great. We had venison and pork as a main and both were great. The polenta was unreal and the portion was massive! We also had pasta and salads. They had gluten free pasta as well. Really a cool place and a great stop. The view is really nice!
