This was our second visit and we were as impressed as on our first visit. We were given a delicious complimentary bowl of spicy seafood bisque on arrival (very welcome on an icy Cape Town day). We then shared a plate of perfectly cooked prawns, served with the most delicious soya sauce-based sauce and fabulous egg-fried rice. The staff were attentive and efficient (and I loved the teapot they brought my tea in).

Stopped by for a quick lunch last week. WOW spectacular, the lunch menu was the best choice, 2 or 3 course at very reasonable prices. Hubby and I were travelling as part of a group and our scheduled lunch stop was Dixies Restaurant. Please keep in mind that this review is NOT based on the menu as a whole but rather what we were offered as a group meal.We were served hake and it was VERY underwhelming. For many of the people in our group the fish wasn't even cooked and in fact, one of our travellers ended up getting sick.I will say that the food that was being ordered off the menu at other tables looked good as it was being served but I can't say the same about our meal.NO, we wouldn't go back.We are terribly sorry to hear of your experience at Dixies. Please could you provide us with the date that you visited Dixies so that we can do an internal investigation. It is a pity, that this was not reported to management on the day so that we could have rectified this issue immediately. Once again, we apologise profusely.

Our second visit to this delightful theatre that once was a church. The architect who designed the conversion got it spot on. Intimate stage setting (holds c.80) and you are very close to the actors. This time we were treated to âBijouâ, a crazy comedy that had you dissolved in laughter the whole way thruâ! How they think up this stuff I just donât know ..save to say it was a mix of brilliantly funny acts interspersed with some great songs and mesmeric dancing. The whole show was flawlessly performed ..great audience too that the cast must have appreciated. We bought a package to include dinner beforehand (upstairs above the stage) ..the fayre and service is of high quality. We had a fabulous evening and canât wait to go again when next in the area.

So we had a lunch with the âdeconstructedâ salads niçoise...awesome...so good that we we HAD to come back. We booked a table( they lost the reservation made in person) but arrived and so excited to have the same thing. It was so disappointing!! Was this the same restaurant? We had 4dishes, one was good, the others tasteless unless salt is your destination. What a disappointment! Consistent preparation is key...this was not the case. You can do better!! Avoid. I'm not generally one to write reviews, but this place is absolutely worth it. From the incredible low key music, to being served the most incredible dishes served by the owner himself, it's a WOW! Exceptionally well organised, unreal cuisine and personalised service. This is a definite "must do" for me and has been a definite highlight of our trip.

Having left another establishment that tried charge for toasting gluten free bread, we had a wonderful breakfast at the courtyard. They even supplied gluten free bread free of charge.Whilst neither of us is vegan, we found a nice selection of options. The food was prepared in a short time, beautifully presented and most tasty.The courtyard also has a most appealing ambience, and friendly waiters.Well worth a visit
