I've been visiting here from time to time for at least 15 years. Less so now that the place is bypassed with the motorway.
I'm had a one or two disappointing meals here over the years but it's never stopped me coming back. It's generally good and more often than not I've left happy and with a full stomach.
Service has always been good and the staff are always very helpful about sorting things if there's any problems.
I'm quite surprised that this place is so low down the list here on TA. In my view it deserves to be considerably higher up.
I wouldn't think twice about stopping here if I was passing near by.

Went for family lunch. Ordered soup, waited almost 25 minutes. When we finally got out food the soup was inedible as it was severally over salted. The bread that came with the soup was homemade but burned black, with lumps of flour throughout as it hadn't been mixed. Cutelry was dirty as were the glasses our water came in.
The toasted special was lovely though.

Called in while passing through Thomastown. Tiny cafe, quite cramped at table. Had panini with organic mushroom soup followed by chocolate cake and coffee. Just delicious. Service with a smile also! Saw a lady come in with two small children. They were immediately given colours and colouring book! Lovely touch!
Do visit!

Very new, chocolatier which serves great coffee and delicious cakes and treats in a small spotless room. Local pottery is used and chocolates are made on the premises.

Me and my friend both ordered the prawn and avacado salad. We requested no dressings or sauce as we were on our new paleo diet so the lovely waitress asked if we would like extra salad to which we both enthusiastically accepted!! We then received two or three leaves of iceberg lettuce with tiny prawns sprinkled ontop. Oh and 1 cherry and a half tomato each. No avacado and absolutely no extra salad. Unless we were only possibly meant to gey two leaves of iceberg lettuce initially. My other friend ordered omlette which when it arrived my 11yr old daughter exclaimed "my god thats a really small omlette"! We sent back our prawn and avacado dishes to get some avacado and received them back with 1 half an avacado each. We were then charged 8 euro for the pleasure. Absolutely delightful cafe and i regularly visit inistioge but will be dining elsewhere for lunch in future.

Mount Juliet Golf Club

Please add the restaurant specifically in the golf club and not in Mount Juliet House. It is open to the public, golfer or not

After traveling nearly 15 miles out of our way to find a restaurant that no longer existed, a chef told us of another restaurant clad Mt Juliet that he would highly recommended. Still never hearing it was the golf clubhouse, we were famished and here we stopped.
We were first told it was for members only at that hour but compassion took over for two strays.
Having only fish and chips, shared, and a shared piece of cheesecake, we were more than pleased with the service and quality of food. Thanks.

Another delightful meal here in the Lady Helen restaurant. The starters - one of sweetbreads and one of scallops were delicious. The main course lamb was mouth-watering. I had the 'deconstructed' tiramisu which was superb. Petit fours also gorgeous.

President's Bar

Reviewed By jerseyjoy1 - United States

This was our second meal at President's Bar in less than a week. The first meal was fine (Tuesday the 3rd). Tonight (Thursday the 5th) the service was absolutely pathetic, bordering on shocking. The only pleasant person was a young man who served some of our food. The young women who were servers were beyond disinterested and showed zero warmth and zero interest in being quality servers. At one point I started choking as my tiny glass of water had gone empty and no one bothered to notice so we had to inquire about more water.
We are on holiday and have very few weeks off per year so every meal we eat out we want to be special and of a very high standard. We thus seek out quality establishments and don't mind paying for quality food. We are generous tippers in the US and tip well in Ireland when we receive good service. Needless to say, we left no tip tonight and it absolutely ruined our evening to be treated with disdain. We are very quiet, pleasant, friendly restaurant patrons and always make an effort to engage Waitstaff and treat them with great respect and interest. Moreover, we are both 50 and have been around the block so we know proper etiquette and how people should be treated and treat others with kindness.
It should be noted that we have travelled Ireland extensively in the past twenty years and never once had an experience like this.
The Waitstaff working tonight needs to be reprimanded. If they don't like their jobs, they should not be working with the public. The young women tonight seemed frankly like spoiled brats who had absolutely no interest in providing a quality experience for people who work hard for their vacations and deserve to be treated with kindness and warmth.
We are thoroughly gobsmacked at easily the worst experience ever service-wise in Ireland in literally hundreds of meals.
