Just came back from the Fjord, because the Viking was closed. I have always preferred the Viking, cause the Fjord looks somehow socialistic to me - large concrete Terrace, dark woods inside... Anyway, the oysters were superb, when we ordered, the waiter said they have just sold out the daily inventory, sat in a car and drove 150m away to buy the oysters from a fisherman that farm the oysters here. Ten minutes later, they came to our table, chilled on ice, just fresh from the sea. Now, where can u get this ?
Grancevolo was juicy and sweet, almost perfect, so the only objection I have is that the bottle of an extra virgin olive oil on the table was translucent and not dimmed. Staff very pro.

We have known this marvellous restaurant for 17 years and we're always fully satisfied. We always have mixed mussels and bavette alto mate (with lobster). We hope that the quality will remain the same for many more years and the chef waiter also
A popular German magazine called it the best fish restaurant in Istria. Although we don't know all for us it's true.

Have had great meals here in the past on a number of occasions but yesterday we had to wait for an hour and a quarter for our food and judging by others experiences it seems we may have been 'lucky' with some of them waiting close to 2 hours!
We arrived without pre booking but they had a table for us, showed us to the table and left us..... We had to summon them over to take an order, the drinks arrived fairly promptly but then nothing, no apology or explanation for the delay at all. We were left waiting, and waiting and waiting.....
Eventually some food arrived, two pasta dishes, but nothing for the rest of us, that took another 10 minutes!
What a shame as other than an odd tasting carbonara the food was actually really quite good, the pizza's especially.
But why did we have to wait so long and without apology or explanation, lousy service!

We ate here after visiting the cave Festinsko kraljevstvo. There were only several meals on offer but they were all quite delicious. As a bonus, the owners have treated us with pancakes "on the house".

We were looking for this konoba in Sveti Lovrec when visiting this little pleasant town. This restaurant however is not in Sveti Lovrec, but in the village Klostar, some miles away from Sveti Lovrec. As it was a hot day and we were not by car, we dropped the plan to go there.

Konoba "Milena" was opened in 1986 and is managed by the Stefanov family.Here you can taste typical Istrian specialities, locally made wines and brandies,olive oil with gold medal and among other things the hosts also offer homemade cheese,pasta,bread,foie gras,Istrian Beef BOSKARIN, organic vegetables from them garden and specially prepared white dried cod.In Konoba "Milena" 60 guests can be seated in an original atmosphere which comprises a main restaurant and a separate room with an open fire, from where one can get a beautiful view out to the sea.On the outdoor Terrace under the shadow of fir trees 80 people can be comfortably seated and be able to enjoy one of the prettiest sunsets in the Adriatic.

Great location for visiting the hilltop villages as well as coastal resorts like Porec - all within 30 min drive. It was incredibly peaceful and felt very wholesome to be staying within a real local community. The management/owners were delightful and couldnt be more helpful. Additionally they run a great no-fuss reasonably priced restaurant that is only open in the evening. Everything is slapped on the barbecue - steaks, fish, seafood and served fresh as can be, including products from their Gardens. The accommodation was very good value although very dated and we struggled with the tiny bathroom but for the price, everything was fine. I think it was a shame that the exterior areas including the little swimming pool looked derelict - the chairs and loungers were all broken and dirty, old rusty pipes lying around the unkempt grass area which altogether did not look very inviting. We did use the pool on a couple of occasions and it was clean enough. There was no where to really sit outside except in the evening restaurant at the large wooden bench tables. The kitchen corner had a fridge so that was a real bonus as well as kettle and other utensils should you want to knock up a light lunch so anyone on a budget, this would be handy.
Its a very good value local venue to rest your head whilst the days are spent out and about.

We were staying in Zminj and was recommended this by the villa owners. So glad we went! Delicious food for all ages and exceptional service. We were lucky to get a booking for the same night but I would definetly book ahead.
Lovely table outside. Sea bass, calamari, streak, pasta - all amazing as was the local Croatian white wine. Highly recommend. Our best meal in Istria.

Meat is grilled on charcoal from the huge open fire and pasta is freshly made to order. You need to be in a big group to get the typically Croatian "meat under the dome" experience though. Food quality is excellent, service is friendly, wine is good, and it's a pretty location for eating outside. Prices are good. What more could you want!

Situated just outside Pazin in the village of Lindar, this pizzeria was superb! It was full of locals and had a great atmosphere, with the smell of wood fired pizzas tantalizing the senses. We could also smell truffles .... We ordered truffle pizza, pasta with truffles and a salad. The servings were huge and we struggled to finish our dishes. The food was absolutely divine and very affordable. The service was friendly and attentive and we would definitely recommend a visit, not your ordinary pizzeria..
