We enjoyed the food at the Grand restaurant immensely. The F&B Manager was very helpful in recommending some great Slovak dishes, they were absolutely yummy.
The service and the experience is great.
Reserving a table is highly recommended as the place was full when we were dinning here.
The restaurant again offers great views.

After hiking over 10 Miles in the High Tatras Mountains, it was a treat to end up at this charming, cozy restaurant. We had a lovely table by the window and enjoyed a delicious meal of spicy grilled chicken with corn and fries and wonderful garlic soup. Our dessert of warm apple strudel was also well prepared. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

In a party of 8, we had a good meal here and everyone was happy. Good local menu, not very sophisticated but dishes to a good honest standard. Only a limited choice of eating places in Strbske, but this will not disappoint.

Pod vedením šéfkuchára Martina Kurhajca ponúka reštaurácia Al Lago jedlá tradičnej mediteriánskej kuchyne s výberom slovenských špecialít. Dôraz je kladený hlavne na čerstvé a pôvodné suroviny a preto si jedlá zachovávajú tú správnu pôvodnú chuť. Pizza je robená z talianskej múky Caputo, stejky sú pripravované z odležanej argentínskej sviečkovice a polievka Demikát zahusťovaný vodou z halušiek. Pri príprave jedál nepoužívame umelé dochucovadlá a múku na zahusťovanie. Pre vegetariánov máme k dispozícii široký výber jedál práve tak ako aj bezlepkové cestoviny a pizzu pre celiatikov. V prípade akýchkoľvek iných požiadaviek vieme byť plne nápomocný.

Yes, the lake is the only reason you may stop by.
The food is not good, even terrible if you consider the price.
It is typical "Slovakian disease", that attractive place makes the proprietors think people should be grateful for them just being there. I don't know... strange and common in Slovakia.
Good owner would make it another gem like nearby Kempinsky (very recommendable), or good "value" like approx. 1km farther koliba Patriot.
So when you are there, keep walking.

The best lunch we had in high tatras and dessert were faboules and also had a new brand of beer which was very tasty and mixed with wine.

The place is excellent, waiters are well trained with excellent english! The foods and drinks are delicious, the prices are acceptable! We enjoyed our evening with drinks and food very much after our daytrip to the Krivan!

Wow, just wow. I am not sure if this is open all the time as a restaurant, as I was invited with a group that had reserved this place exclusively for dinner well in advance. It is a small, intimate, family operated place with a top-level chef and staff and an exceptional young lady who is both the host and sommelier. The food is exceptional, beautifully presented. Many of the courses give a nod to local and traditional meats and game (or at least they did this night), and it was just perfect, really. I am not sure I have ever had a better meal.

We stopped by for dinner after a long hike two days ago (Foursquare recommendation) and have been back for the third time already. have stayed at this hotel and twice have ordered lunch - which was really tasty plus nicely decorated. it was prepared pretty quickly even when we did not order from the daily specials. additionally, they we willing to make a dish for our daughter which was not on menu.

Hi, we came here just to have have hot drink and soup - sauerkraut with sausage. It was well done soup, good quality sausage in it and lot of cabbage.
Also other meals looked fairly good.
It´s an important hikers point, so it might be also really crowded inside.
I hope I am going to add later a review of the whole object (accomodation, service, meals), as I am passionate hiker and planning to overnight here.
