Door County Ice Cream Factory & Sandwich Shoppe

The Door County Ice Cream Factory and Sandwich Shoppe makes its own super-premium ice cream on site. Patrons can watch ice cream being made during production hours. Over seventy varieties of ice cream and sorbet are made with 29 available on any given day. We also have a full line of sundaes, shakes, malts, and draft root beer floats. Enjoy your ice cream in one of our freshly made waffle cones or enjoy a sundae with our house made hot fudge. If you are hungry for a meal, we offer a full line of sub sandwiches as well as soups, salads, and homemade pizza. Enjoy your ice cream or food in our building which was constructed in 1912. Adorning the walls are vintage photographs of Sister Bay and the surrounding areas. We have an outdoor play area for kids and plenty of seating both inside and out.

We visited expecting to see ice cream being made but were disappointed when we arrived to one employee and an store empty of customers. To be fair, we visited in lat October so maybe during the busier time of the year there is a better chance to see some action but not a this time. Not very impressed.

Our favorite coffee shop in sister bay. The homemade baked goods are incredible. I had one of the best Americano drinks I've ever had. Place is small but quaint with tables outside as well. Very polite order takers.

Door County Bakery

Don and Jean Thompson welcome you to their Door County Bakery. Located just south of Sister Bay, Wisconsin, we're more than a bakery...much more. The Door County Bakery is the home of the famous Corsica Loaf™. It’s a one-of-a-kind bread found only at the Door County Bakery. The Door County Bakery is also the place to enjoy breakfast and lunch.

We stopped in here to get some treats when we were in the area and we love the breadsticks with sesame seeds. But wow are there prices high. $30 for a pie? And 10.79 a pound for breadsticks? It will be a treat if we stop in here again for a bit.

This is a must stop when traveling Door County in Sister Bay. It has a selective menu but don't let that stop you. It is perfect for lunch and has a good selection of wines. However it is my favorite place to stop and sample fresh soft and hard goat cheese. The chèvre is the best I have ever tasted. I prefer the plain but it comes in a variety of flavors. I make a special trip to load up for home. If you can't make the trip to the Door they have a web site you can order from, but when the goats stop milking your going to be out of luck. Tasting is believing and believe me it is the best just say'n...

This was a "must" on our Door County visit every time but after our last meals, we are re-evaluating that decision. My Blackened Shrimp over Grits was so piled on with "stuff", that it was trying to be something else than what I experienced a few years ago here and loved! The same was for hubby's pork dish - sauce was so thick and too many flavors all over the place like it was just dumped on to look like a complex dish, very disappointing. Maybe the "small plate" or tapas night might be the way to go for us next time as we have so enjoyed the atmosphere and service here.

Always stop here for coffee when out walking in Sister Bay. They have nice cheerful service, and if you are hungry some delicious looking scones and pastries. And ice cream for later in day.
Inside is small seating, but front porch has some good sized tables for 2 or 3.

Stopped in for a February Friday lunch and decided to try the featured “Donation Creation” pizza which was made of many locally supplied ingredients. Finished with an apple crisp with ice cream that was just okay, but you go for the pizza.

Chop

Now serving breakfast Friday - Sunday 8 AM - 12 PM! With an emphasis on classic American Steakhouse cuisine, CHOP is Door County's First Choice for great steak and seafood. CHOP is a great place to eat, combining an intriguing atmosphere with excellent, high-quality food and service.

Chop is a surprise in the north woods. We had breakfast which included ciabatta toast with cherry butter. (Cherries are huge in Door County.) The smashed potatoes are great and served with breakfast and dinner. The special was lamb chops which were excellent and reasonably priced. They know how to make an extra dry martini properly.
