My friends and I find this place very nice and with a great atmosphere. The food was good and the wine too. The service was outstanding. Sabine, the waitress, is very friendly. I recommend this place in the centre of Schwandorf.

My husband and I were regular customers at Rossini's for three years as it was superb in every regard....food, service, ambience, location, etc.. Now that we no longer live in Germany, we visit during vacation and the staff are delighted to see us. We are treated with the same regard and respect as if we were regular customers. The daily specials are great, but I typically have Bruschetta (best ever), lasagna, and wash it down with Chianti! The restaurant mirrors fine dining but with affordable costs.

We stopped at this restaurant on our way from Prague to Munich to have some lunch, the staff were quite welcoming and provided us with an English language menu, the food was quite good and there were many choices, The portions were generous in size and both the presentation and quality of the food were above standard. They do not accept credit cards and you must get there before 2 p.m. As they close from 2 to 4 p.m. Parking available nearby.

It is always a treat to find great restaurants like "Van Gogh" in a place one would never expect it.
Invited by friends who live in Schwandorf we were confronted with a fantastically decorated restaurant, completely in van Gogh style, clearly the owner´s favorite painter. But a greater surprise was the quality of the food and the way it was presented. Let´s stay brief in this comment. Just go there folks and you will not be disappointed, No, you will come back. just like we will, many times to come!!!

Pizzeria Portofino is a hidden jem for us ! We're a large group of 13 went there for lunch. The restaurant is near to bahnhof and surrounding is very quiet & beautiful. The food is really delicious and service is prompt. We've tried Spaghetti Bolognia Style, Noodle, Beef Pizza and Pizza With Mushroom. Well, the cost of food is really reasonable. As usually, Bavarian Beer is the best and had drink a few glass at restaurant. Altogether, we had a great yummy lunch and shall try to be there again in my next trip :)

Wir waren spontan hier vorbeigefahren, ohne Reservierung. Die Servicekraft fragte nach knapper Begrüßung nach unserer Reservierung. Da wir keine hatten, kugelte sie sehr offensichtlich mit den Augen... eigentlich hätten wir da gehen sollen. Es ist sehr seltsam oft, das es in der Gastronomie dem Personal nicht wirklich klar ist, wer deren Lohn am Ende des Tages bezahlt... Da wir aber hungrig waren und statt der Bedienung, uns andere Gäste darauf aufmerksam gemacht hatten, das sie schon bezahlt haben und eh im Aufbruch sind, haben wir dort Platz genommen. Wir wurden dann erst mal ignoriert und erst als alle Gäste, die nach uns kamen, ihre Getränke hatte, wurden wir gnädiger weise auch nach unserem Getränkewunsch gefragt.
Über das Essen, Karpfen gebacken mit Kartoffelsalat kann ich sagen, das der Fisch gut war, der Kartoffelsalat aus alten Kartoffeln gemacht wurde. Das schmeckte man ganz klar raus, schade!
Essen alles in allem absoluter unterer Durchschnitt.
Aber der Supergau war, das die Servicekraft dann am Nachbartisch einen Gast lautstark zurechtwies. Und egal was der Gast sagte, wurde ihm lauthals seine Meinung abgesprochen. Unglaublich. So etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Wir haben Gott sei Dank die freie Wahl, in welches Lokal wir unser sauerverdientes Geld tragen, hierher jedenfalls nicht mehr.

Das Café Kostbar in Schwandorf ist ein schön eingerichtetes Café mit einer tollen Frühstücksauswahl, auch vegan. Auch mittags bietet das Café viele Gerichte. Die Preise sind eher gehoben für Schwandorf. Um 18 Uhr macht das Café bereits zu.
Der Service ist leider manchmal etwas langsam.
Alles in allem empfehlenswert!
